I hope that those who are opposed to Fracking will continue the fight and put our money where our mouths are. Blockades anyone?

Fracking will enable us to be less reliant on oil.
This word, fracking, is it just me or does it sounds like a sexual position?
I can't remember who it was, but I got this link in one of these bleeding heart threads here. Please read it :

Despite this litany of lies, those who fear shale gas drilling would have you believe Gasland is worth watching because it demonstrates the imminent destruction of the Karoo. They are either gullible or dishonest.
So has the studies been done, and done properly?
The ANC government obviously cannot be trusted where money is involved, so I can't help but wonder who got paid kickbacks for this decision.
Fracking will enable us to be less reliant on oil.
Pull the other one...
My question is who managed how to pull the wool over their eyes ?Whatever guys.
I suppose you are the authority ?
Its pretty simple, if you are on the same side as greenpeace then you are on the side of ignoramuses.

Isn't PetroSA wholly government owned; i.e. a public enterprise.Mmm, maybe it's a good idea to buy some shares on MossGas/PetroSA?
According to whom ?
Two questions -
1) Will they reveal full and independently assessed details of the chemicals they will pump into the earth.
2) Will they guarantee 100% that there will be no pollution of the water table - with say a $10 billion penalty if there is.
If they are so certain of our future water purity I see no reason why they cannot comply with these two.
Do you disagree with what I have said? Its pretty simple, if you are on the same side as greenpeace then you are on the side of ignoramuses.
And no, i'm not on the side of the government. I'm on the side of progress.
Yes1) Will they reveal full and independently assessed details of the chemicals they will pump into the earth.
Don't know, but that's a bit unfair if this is not imposed on every other mining practice ?2) Will they guarantee 100% that there will be no pollution of the water table - with say a $10 billion penalty if there is.

In which fantasy land do you live in? Cause I'd like to join you
Even if we find oil in South Africa, the government will want to export it and still charge us the world per barrel price for oil.
They can, at anytime, give us at least a R4 relief on the petrol price with all their levies/taxes and RAF contributions on there. If it was actually used for the roads (like it was supposed to), then we wouldn't have the looming tollgate saga over our heads. They improved the roads for 2010 or whatever? Awesome. My tax money AND the fuel levies PAID for that.
Now they want to add toll's on that to recoup money? Er no. They just fleecing the public and they bet their retirement fund on it so now it HAS to work. And the profits from that will never see the light of day and our roads would (again) just deteriate more and more.
So keeping that in mind: what on earth do you think is going to happen with the fracking? The same old "i grease your palm you grease mine and we both profit from it" and it helps ****all to bridge the divide between rich and poor they bitch and moan so much about! *MAYBE* it creates some jobs, but other than that, international corporations will benefit, not us. The only people benefiting is the ones who allow them to do this.
Do tell me how fracking operate.
I believe it is by injecting chemicals and the such deep into the earth in order to release gas/oil.
Now what do happen to those chemicals they injected? Will it just go away, or what?
Generally it's mostly water they inject...
