Cryptocurrencies are cool. Since, mobile operators have absolutely no control over their users OS, unless you buy their house branded phones, they will have little impact on adoption of bitcoin.

What is more likely to occur is that users discover the joys of Android includes Bitcoin. Therefore the operators can get stuffed as far as I am concerned.

WTF? What is bitcoin? What is a crypto-currency? The article makes huge assumptions that the majority of us have even a vague idea of what the article is based on.

Can someone please explain in layman's terms what this article is about?

I would also like to see an article explaining crypto-currency from an historical, technical and then practical view.

Its money pulled from someones ass. You still need something tangible to buy it with. We should really just go back to using gold

A quick google will find you such an article. You won't find anything on the history though. Bitcoin is pretty much the first implementation.

Real money IS pulled from someones ass..

Interesting Video

From what I gather this currency is tangable as there is a fix amount of coins that can be mined. For a system like this to work, the coins have to be constantly moving, not hogged like todays money systems.

Ok...I watched the video and still have not freakking clue what it is or how it works. RPM....please do another article explaining to us like we are a bit on the slow side. :-)

I did....but went cross eyed halfway through and decided to test it out anyway. Did not even think about how much data it would be using. I was running it for about 30 minutes and it used about 80megs in that period. Thank god I was connected via house wifi! sjoe! close call! :-)
