Our entire system is stuck in the 90's. Home affairs is the same. Nothing was upgraded, nothing went digital in time. There are stacks of paper to the ceilings in some cop stations. Heck my DFO didn't even know what type of gun he was carrying when I asked. Untrained, unmotivated, under resourced, the list goes on. I can't stand dealing with the police in SA.

Our government loves a bit of paperwork.

Home Affairs - Schreiber has changed the landscape in the short period . Not sure about digital as he will have to battle with SITA and that is going to be a mountain & a half to climb but he has shown what can be done. Previous guy Aron Motsoaledi should be prosecuted for incompetence, looking at Schreiber's performance. Aron was so useless that I am sure RFK Jr (in USA) would look competent in front of him

Police stations - again not sure about digital but specific police stations are quite helpful but in Midrand, there are decent CPF's and good communication from what I have seen.

And yet I recall multi-billion tenders being awarded to digitise the Police. I wonder what went wrong!

I am surprised we are not discussing the shenanigans that happened yesterday in Tshwane with the DA walking out due to the speaker not accepting their requests. The interesting part is the DA councillors that stayed behind they had more important things to do than petty politics are being labelled as traitors at the moment. The DA councillor that stayed behind is responsible for my area and it should be noted that the DA supporters in our area are PISSED about them walking out and essentially ignoring the item directly influencing our area. Due to this I might be considering voting for councillor and a non DA party in the next municipal election.

This?

Correct. The DA walked out before issues were discussed primarily involving DA wards.
Well I can see why they walked out tbh
If things are not being run correctly , sticking arround means you support it

Not wrong - system working as intended. I swear there should be public flogging for corruption. I see @ToxicBunny said this already even if he didn't mention flogging. 2 great minds think alike and all that.

The wards residents straight up sees it as them playing politics over prioritising them.

Its all playing politics, but I've found over the years that residents are clueless as to how the political process actually works and what councillors are responsible for.

Well the motion involving our ward was accepted due to the ANC, EFF, ASA etc, and our DA ward councillor voting for it with the bulk of the DA outside the building.
