Ok. Interesting read.

It's clear ANC won't reach 2021 levels or beat 2024's PR result... They're going to get moered. Hence the frenzied looting, decoying and "we will not be bullied" coping.

MK will probably win in ETH or become the biggest party. Hands down. uMngeni... I don't know. Pappas might win another 51% for DA there, expect MK to clean house with ANC and EFF.

In GP, all to play for, if Gogo comes into play in JHB and considering the onslaught from MK, EFF, expect ANC to be popped like a zit in all GP metros...

ANC is still going to have mathematic majority for the foreseeable future. It all makes no difference, the left will continue to have political majority. SA will continue to decline, cadres will continue to cadre.

Maersk has stated this week they are shutting down shipping any goods between SA and the US. So it really doesn't matter at this point what the ANC does. They are on their own.

Not sure if posted.

On Maersk, it's also true to stay that Maersk shifted shipping alliances from one that does point-to-point shipping, to one that uses the hub-and-spoke model.

Maersk and MSC were in the 2M alliance, which does direct shipping from SA to the US. Maersk and MSC announced in 2023 that the partnership would end in 2025, so Trump was not a factor. MSC continues to offer direct shipping to the US.

Maersk chose to join Hapag-Lloyd to form the Gemini alliance. Gemini uses hub-and-spoke shipping to group up shipments from multiple ports by shipping them to larger ports, and then shipping onward to destinations.

I don't think that SA or current US tariffs were a factor in a choice that Maersk made in 2023.

29%?
Only friends and family are still voting these days. The rest of the population have had enough of our useless politicians.
29% is pretty good given the turnout in the municipal election was 40%, but it's a long-term problem for the ANC which benefits the DA more than any other party as during municipal and national elections, the turnout rate in DA wards is usually 10-15% higher than ANC wards.
