They should also be investigated for delinquency as board members, if there was no scandal woukd they have come out to say they were not involved or would they have just kept quiet?

Even the fact that it took this long after the scandal has broken for them to come out look suspicious.
They were employees as far as I understood. And you all know how well witness protection works here

As far as the Trump stuff goes

So 5.8 vs 14.7 is a big imbalance
And 14.7 is a huge ammount of export income for SA to lose

That makes it even worse, I haven't followed the story properly but the only person I recall distancing himself from the process is Adv Motau, and he did that from the onset and even got an apology.

How long did it take the others to decide if they were part of the process or not? They don't look like victims to me, they look like people who were waiting to see where the wind is blowing and when it became apparent it was blowing strongly against the Minister, they decided to bail out.

Not every trade deal is fully balanced though... it would be beyond stupid to think that it should be that way.
I agree... but

In this case SA is smiling , while it appears the US is no longer willing to have that large a deficit

Maybe just some **tinfoil hat** there. Sure if there was no storm they would have stayed quiet. In their position I probably would have as well

It may not be the full reason, but SA has certainly gone out its way to annoy the US. Some would say deliberately so
So why should we get special treatment with Agoa etc

SA was told what needs to change.. Amazing that the gov hid it from its voters
None of that factored in this tarrifs decision though. Stop trying to retcon it.

So yes, but the bigger loser in the process is the US, not us.

A big chunk of our trade with them is metals and minerals that they use for their industrial capacity... so not getting it has a MUCH bigger impact to them than us.
