Journalists aren't well paid but I hear you. It's a huge insult at even more risk. These various state entities are just pits of corruption with complicit boards and no political oversight.
This particular journalist wrote a few successful books though. I doubt he's cheap to employ...
 
I would hazard a guess that even if he was interested in the bribe, R60k would have been too low.

Its almost certainly not the first journalist a looting movement member has tried to bribe. Im sure they have brought bigger amounts in the past and been successful.
 
Yeah, I suspect PLM is one of the very few financially secure journalists in this country. I think the Gangster State was quite a successful book.
 
He won't be the first one to do that so there's really no shame.
I agree. I don't call it backtrack but strategic move due to changed circumstances.
