**** me.
Local companies are battling to find work and then these ***** do this.

Local guys are too expensive don't you know

Which of course is a code word for "We can't skim as much as we want if we go local"

**EDIT** also all the local guys are white (probably) so thats just not on, can't have them getting any government money.

Less tongue in cheek though, its just fscking piss poor that we aren't prioritising local work on our military equipment to help build the industry back up again.

I have reliable information that the Chinese will be conducting an assessment of the Naval Dockyard to determine what will be required to enable refits of the SAS Drakensberg, Protea, the four Frigates and the three Submarines.

These are all NATO spec vessels using Western technology. Should NATO decide to institute spare parts and technology sanctions, this will be a huge waste of money.

The Indian Navy runs older British vessels that have been fitted with Russian systems. This has resulted in huge costs to integrate the systems and unique one-off integrations that are very costly to get the systems to work and logistically support.

I heard the same thing :whistling:

The SA Navy had all the technical expertise required to run and maintain the ultra modern German stealth frigates. Locally trained and sent overseas to gain new knowledge. But the optics were wrong.

Along came Thabo Mbeki, who decided the optics would change, come hell or high water. He personally appointed what was seen as an MK Rottweiler to undertake this. Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala was appointed to transform the SA Navy optics. She walked in with the rank of Commander (Lieutenent Colonel) and had the fastest promotion in the world of seven years to Admiral, despite having never been part of a ships crew.

A document was published with names of which correct optics would replace which incorrect optics, despite the SANDF and Secret Service not being subject to AA by law.

Most of the incorrect optics that were technically capable left the service, leaving the untrained correct optics to run the vessels. This resulted in the navy having to bring in OEM manufacturers to maintain the equipment, which the incorrect optics were completely capable of doing. The incorrect optics were noticed and employed by the OEM manufacturers. The incorrect optics now received a much bigger remuneration, didn't have to go to sea and were no longer subject to military discipline. Budgetary constraints resulted in OEM maintenance, which resulted in this ending, with the knowledge now permanently lost. This has resulted in ships rusting alongside and only two naval vessels are capable of leaving the harbour at present.

Admiral Tshabalala was feted and made Checker's Woman of the Year. Afterwards, she was found guilty of fraud and assaulting a subordinate. Both would normally result in cashiering, but her apparent top cover ensured she remained in the service. She left when another fraud charge was pending. She has been a member of the ANC, EFF, UDM and now MKP.

Now we know how the SA Navy was emasculated.

Easy answer. YES.

Very unfortunately :(

Just look at the recent assasination of Mpho Mafole, the City of Ekurhuleni’s Group Divisional Head for Corporate and Forensic Audits.

In both his and Babitas' case the shooters were caught but who gave the instruction?!

Aggg shem.... who could have seen this coming.
Why is she still not arrested in a basically slam dunk case? Not sure how much clearer the evidence is going to be
