"Packed with DA supporters". If you looked at this photo, you wouldn't even know. No party regalia, nothing.

I checked who wrote it. Velani Ludidi, also very "impartial and unbiased" towards the DA as late Madia was.
  • DA community activist Zibele Mkinase appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and links to extortion groups in Gugulethu.
  • Police testified that witnesses connected to the case have been killed, including Zwelandile “Tshuku” Mlambo, who was gunned down two weeks ago outside an ANC councillor’s home.
  • The DA has condemned the mobilisation of supporters to back Mkinase in court, saying it was unaware of his arrest.

DA member and community activist Zibele Mkinase has been arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder, with police linking him to extortion groups in Gugulethu’s Europe informal settlement.
Mkinase, married to DA City of Cape Town councillor Betty Duli-Mkinase, appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Sergeant Thembekile Matwa testified that Mkinase was arrested on 15 August in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape, after police traced the vehicle he was travelling in with his wife using licence plate recognition technology.

He appeared at the Cradock Magistrate’s Court and was later transferred to Cape Town.
The murder charge relates to the killing of a young man in Gugulethu last year. Matwa told the court the victim had worked with Mkinase in extorting businesses, but after their fallout, Mkinase allegedly killed him. Two months later, the victim’s mother was also allegedly murdered after seeking answers about her son’s death.
“We have been losing witnesses in this case, Your Honour, and those who remain fear for their lives,” Matwa said.
Mkinase, however, denied any involvement in extortion or the killings. His defence argued that his arrest was unlawful as the warrant was issued on the same day.

The court also heard that Zwelandile “Tshuku” Mlambo, an ANC member and another potential witness, was shot dead two weeks ago outside ANC councillor Bongani Ngcombolo’s home. Ngcombolo said he feared the killers may have mistaken Mlambo for him.
“He was killed at the gate,” said Ngcombolo. “There are political differences in the ward, and I no longer feel safe,” he said
The courtroom was filled with DA supporters and family members backing Zibele Mkinase, who has been arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder.

The courtroom was filled with DA supporters and family members backing Mkinase, a move the party has condemned.
DA spokesperson Matthew Sims said the party was unaware of the arrest until recently.
“The City of Cape Town speaker has been alerted,” Sims said. “We condemn the mobilisation of party members to support the case. We will be monitoring the proceedings.”
Duli-Mkinase told News24 her family had suffered several attacks, including threats, the killing of relatives, and the torching of her car.
“I had to flee the area, and when I do my work, I have to alert law enforcement authorities and neighbourhood watches for my safety.”
She said that she asked her husband about the allegations levelled against him, and he denied being involved in any criminal activities.
“I was saddened when Tshuku was killed because he warned me about the attacks before they happened, and he was right.”
The case has been postponed to 3 September for bail arguments.

There was one question?

It does raise the question: Do judges question the cops requesting a search warrant about their reasons and determine the legality, considering the person's rights?

Or do they walk into their chambers, face a pile of papers, check the t's are crossed and i's are dotted, check all the stamps and signatures are there, and then just sign?

More laws.
There’s no law enforcement in SA.

So it’s pointless.

Most laws in South Africa are pointless. Until the government decides a specific law is to be enforced. This law, like tax law and BEE law, will be stringently enforced.
