Some interesting numbers
Esp considering the noise made by some members here

It's bizarre, people will buy an Indian-built Suzuki but scoff at an Indian-built Mahindra...

There are most likely still a lot of people around who remember the first Tata's we had here. It's difficult to change their minds.

Well I have zero experience with them. so can't comment. Back in the day I knew plenty of people that tried the Tata's. Hell I even took their pickup for a test drive as I was in the market for a bakkie for work. It felt like a 20 year old Isuzu "plaasbakkie" with 300 000+ km on.

My most biggest concern when buying a car is aftermarket support. It doesnt help buying something where the support structure is not inplace and you cant get parts
Just sold my volvo a few months back when they started toning down their dealerships

To be fair, if you bought one of those first Tata bakkies, but bought it know that it was a 20+ yr old design at the time it was actually a perfectly acceptable vehicle... very agricultural, but also very easy to fix with a hammer basically

Agreed, but that's not the picture the sales rep painted of the vehicle. If I needed it for farm use, I probably would have bought it. The mirrors were just there to satisfy the laws. Utterly useless to see anything in due to the vibrations.
