South Africa is not sustainable with the black majority disenfranchised. Those enjoying it and not keen to see it change are only shooting themselves in the foot. It was never going to last, apartheid's legacy that is.

This is not the USA. If General Mkhwanazi can get crazy criminals under control and show them who's boss in KZN, what's stopping the Western Cape's Police Commissioner? Could it be that his force is corrupt and works with the murdering gangsters in Cape Town? 🤔

And whose fault would that be, given that his position and his forced is managed and allocated from National under an ANC minister?

I agree with you here from a logical perspective. Unfortunately, from a realistic perspective, BBBEE isn't the correct manner to ensure redress. The current redress is creating a racial divide in the country and, even more unfortunate for all South Africans, you seem to share the same mindset as many young blacks - punishment and racial divisiveness is okay as long as the blacks are enfranchised and enriched.

Here's the kicker, BBBEE will never work for the disenfranchised man on the street. Government should have created a system where massive tax breaks are provided for education, labor mobilisation and capital formation to assist PDI, along with LSM-based economic benefits. Whether you like it or not, the whites that sit with capital and wealth, also sit with a choice: invest and take risk in South Africa's economic sphere or pack it up and move elsewhere. This is what you don't seem to understand...you can't rely on Government for capital formation and wealth generation for the population...the private sector is the basis for that. Your willingness for collective punishment is pushing South Africa further backwards, economically and socially speaking and worse, you seem happy with that.

So after 30 years, where is the equivalent of Santam/etc etc? Hmmm?

Its called the carrot vs the current stick.

Basic human behaviour dictates that a carrot approach will always be more effective than a stick.

Exactly! Unfortunately, the ANC has just proven time and again that they prefer corruption and nepotism over actual service delivery and building SA. BBBEE is just a vote buying mechanism disguised under 'redress' and many MyBB can't see the forest for the trees and blindly support the very thing that is destroying South Africa's economy year by year.

I don't even think BBBEE is a vote buying mechanism, its more an extraction scheme for the political elite.
