As much as I appreciate SA's push for a broader diplomatic base, we have to be careful when bedding the PRC. Labor importation and hefty penalties on SLA's are among some of their more well known "interesting" business tactics...ask Namibia, Kenya, Botswana and Uganda.

The Chinese are fixing the country, the food might be soggy and unappealing, but allow them to cook.

We ous built dams so large, that we got blamed for building them too big because the rain does not fill them up.

We ous built power stations that cause a crisis if they go down now, where the new ous had to get foreigners - that then built them wrong.

We ous knew how to run railways, did not connive with foreign experts resulting in too tall trains.

We ous dug our own long drops, did not need to look tearfully at government for one because we couldn't even build a kakhuis.

There's nothing wrong with my post. With enough competition, whether Chinese or American, there's bound to be competition if they don't collude.

My age is just advanced enough where I can laugh at the okes loving setting things on fire, realizing they burnt their own fingers.

Yes, many countries have a gendarmerie-type thing, where specialised military units can do "policing".

(2) The defence force is the only lawful military force in the Republic.
(3) Other than the security services established in terms of the Constitution, armedorganisations or services may be established only in terms of national legislation.

(5) The security services must act, and must teach and require their members to act, inaccordance with the Constitution and the law, including customary internationallaw and international agreements binding on the Republic.
(6) No member of any security service may obey a manifestly illegal order.

I doubt a Commando-type entity would somehow contradict this section if it were to be reintroduced.

The Commandos operated as civil defence units, not police units. E.g. they'd be called out for a farm or terrorist attack but not a robbery. So they'd fall under the Army's purview, but they wouldn't perform policing duties.
