While this is true, and the US likes appointing former military personal to the role, it is not required.

The UK, Canada, France, Italy and Japan have defence ministers without military backgrounds.

Oh don't worry, none of those countries have won any wars on the past 100 years either. Without US intervention, the poms would all be speaking German.

The US has beaten every single one of them in combat except Canada who didn't even bother trying. Perhaps they should start hiring on merit lol.

Ha, reminds me of an academic from an African country demanding that he only come to a conference in South Africa if he was booked on business class. Keep in mind this wasn't even a well-known or "celebrity" academic. Just a lowly one from an insignificant country who has had no significant impact whatsoever.

The brilliant reasoning of loony left retards always leave me in shock and awe 😍
He left the military with the rank of Major ffs. A Major! And he became a tv personality. If I quit today and become a Grindr model, I'd be known as a Grindr model.

It’s all small penis syndrome. Same as when Cele made police positions sound the same as the army.
It wasn't Cele who decided. It was the executive branch of government, perhaps with approval from relevant steuctures. Cele was just a tool used to implement it.

As a maga person allow me to enlighten you. You'd never make a grindr model :X3:
I won't be a model anywhere. I'm not tall, muscular nor visually appealing. Think Stephen Miller, but in caramel and black frames. It's a hypothetical scenario.
Gay men are even more fussy than women
That's why maga are into them I guess?

Knysna you know what to do this year. It is completely unconscionable that a fairly well-off municipality like Knysna in the Independent Republic has a non-DA council.
Have you looked at the demographics in Knysna lately? It’s probably one of the ANC’s most successful voter resettlement programs. There is a huge, almost entirely Xhosa population now, that is larger than the entire white and coloured population of Knysna, that didn’t exist 20 years ago.

The fact that they live in a total hell hole (but with the best view of the lagoon), and wod actually have been far better off just living a simple pastoral life in the transkie than they will ever be now is irrelevant. What matters is, they will vote ANC.

George is probably 10 years away from going the same way unless something drastic changes. The black population in George municipality now outstrips the white and coloured population.
I had a teacher in High School that tried to convince us that Apartheid was good (this is the 80's).
Although I can’t agree with your teacher that apartheid was good, there are huge parts of South Africa that were much better off during apartheid than what they are now.

That’s probably the saddest thing about the legacy of the ANC. Apartheid was an atrocity, and yet 35 years of ANC rule has been worse.
The pool is shallow. Not sure why Schreiber would need to work on his charm. His charm is no worse than GHL's. I would have thought they'd go for maturity instead of experimenting with GHL. Winde would be my choice but he prefers to play safe.
Winde is one of the few adults in the room as far as the DA goes, but unfortunately he showed his true colours after the previous election, and proved the DA isn’t really as federalist as it makes out to be. He puts nationalist interests above the will of his constituents just like the rest of them.
Did Cate Blanche explain how the R400 000 cost was incurred? What for exactly? Certainly a new ticket is not that pricey?
If he is flying business class, which one can only assume such an entitled prick would be, and he would be travelling with some sort of entourage as well, the cost can easily get that high. It’s a pretty difficult routing flying to the Gambia. No direct flights. It gets expensive fast.
