SA Post Office Strike

Was the parcel packaged well? How was it destroyed?

Was a silicone mold and someone stuck what I can only assume was a screw driver or knife through it rendering it useless. Still happened around the time they had those massive strikes last year.

Just when I was about to give up on my 10 January 2016 shipment it arrived, together with a shipment from 16 February.

100% success rate still in tack.

Nice. My item from China also arrived. Took two months but it got here. Other than the long waits I don't have much issue with the local SAPO.

Shame...he clearly hasn't worked with the rubbish called Unions and the people who belong to them.

I believe he has the right kind of attitude to make it work. Whether or not he'll be "allowed" to do it is another question...

Hi ALL

ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE POSTOFFICE TRACKING SYSTEM/WEBSITE???

Ordered stuff again after more than a year. International tracking showed that the parcel left the warehouse on the 10th, was shipped on the 13th and arrived here on the 20th. Local tracking started on the 26th and it hit capemail today, the 30th. Not bad. Customs already have the required documents, so now they just need to do their thing! Hoping for the best here...

There hasn't been a complete PO strike in over a year, why is this thread still going or named like this?

My past three ebay orders have arrived like clockwork exactly one month later. Give or take a few days...

^ Seems to be the general experience.

Summary of my latest SAPOS Horror:

1. Order R3K worth of projector lamps from China
2. Wait 3 months, system shows parcel stuck at JHB International customs
3. Check again after waiting a few weeks longer
4. Finds that suddenly the system was updated with a bunch of records showing parcel's been at my local SAPOS branch for almost 3 months (never received any notification)
5. Data shows parcel was SENT BACK to JHB International
6. Phone JHB Mail Centre on a Friday and arrange to pick up the parcel at JHB International on Monday before it's sent back
7. Takes a looong drive and rock up at the JHB Int. Mail centre on the Monday, 11AM...
8. Find out the parcel was sent back to China at 9:06AM that morning
9. Takes a deep breath. Cuts my losses. Orders another pair of Lamps online.
