You got your parcel? Mine arrived at customs same day and still says its stuck at customs. I'll go check my post office for in case but still. I just wish these guys would answer their phones.

I went to my PO and got it. I didn't wait for the slip.

The PO was empty. No customers. But several items had been handed in for dispatch.

I was told the strike may be over on the 15th.

okies, I'll go check and see if I am lucky with my parcels.

I will believe the ending of strike date when the guys actually go back to work.

That's SAPO's secret...

It's always on strike.

SAPO may be always on strike but this is the first strike which affected me noticeably. And it's not like I'm not a heavy user, I regularly get something by post. So for me, as long as my stuff arrives reasonably quickly via JHB, I'm not concerned with all the other branches and whatnot being closed.

There is no confirmation of any strike being over, i asked someone at the post office. They do not know when its over, the unions are not accepting there position (PO).

PO strike effected me last year and now this year as well.

PO strike will never again affect me, this was the last time

There's no confirmation. But mail is now actually being delivered whereas it was not just earlier this week.

Well you're lucky, because no mail has been delivered to us for at least 2 months.

As long as I'm in SA, I have to live with the SAPO. Some foreign companies only use SAPO and they don't negotiate about that.

Next time i will rather pay premium prices and send via fedex.

I was actually very happy with the post office speed services when I used them this year.

Seems like there's still a strike going on :wtf:

It depends on the company but some of them only do EMS and nothing else. And you can't forward the stuff either because they have international customers and domestic customers running off separate sites. And you can't go to anyone else since they're the manufacturer too and only do direct business.

That's Cape Town, I do realise our SAPO services are much better than in JHB.
I'm still waiting for a royal mail package that's stuck in transit somewhere, however I've received 3 notifications these past 2 weeks for a package customs detained...and whenever I've phoned capemail I've had a friendly voice help me. So seems they're actually doing some work here in cpt which is great.
