SA Post Office Strike

Sent yet another email to ask where my stuff is.

Got this response 3 days later

Dear customer we don't give a **** about

Thank you for contacting the South African Post Office.

Your item is still at the Bloemfontein hub and please note that mail has not been processed as the current disputes have not been put to rest. Our colleagues at the mail centre are unable to gain access to their office however business continuity plans are in place beginning from today and we expect to have some positive movement on those items affected.

Please accept our heartfelt apologies for an inconvenience caused.

Warm regards,
Customer Services

Email the minister.

What's his email address?

I know it may do bogger all but it may also indirectly show them how they're pissing people off.

Also complaint to the International Postal Union.

SA has to probably abide by some rules if they're in postal network. Maybe they're not. Complaining there may also result in some sort of inquiries from that end. How embarrassing would it be for the ANC government if the post office was sanctioned by the IPU.

Spot your parcel

Mine is in there somewhere:mad:

By the way, check how far down the floor is...

Your watches are probably fine, just going to take them a while. I am not even going to go to JIMC until I know for sure they have decided to work again

Update on industrial action at some facilities of SA Post Office
Processing of mail items has resumed at a number of facilities of the SA Post Office affected by industrial action. These include the Witspos processing facility in Johannesburg, the Tshwane Mail facility in Pretoria, and the Germiston processing facility on the East Rand.
Although mail processing is not yet at full capacity, we are hopeful that it will be normal by next week.
Postal workers embarked on an illegal strike on 18 August, citing dissatisfaction with the speed of appointing casual postal employees to permanent positions as reason for the strike.
Employees at Post Office outlets are not on strike, but large numbers of Post Office outlets in the Johannesburg and Tshwane areas had to be temporarily closed as a result of violence against non-striking employees. Four branches are closed in Tshwane today, but in the Johannesburg area, intimidation is more widespread and 50% of post offices are closed today. Six branches in Johannesburg are closed for repairs following damage by striking workers.
