SA Post Office Strike

Who do we contact at customs.
The post office just say sorry its at customs
Even if you do get someones number they will;

1. Not answer
2. In the event that by some miracle they do answer, wont help you.

My last BangGood parcel took 2 days from China to my desk in Sandton, but I suppose that's what $23 shipping gets you :)
For that speed its a bargain!

eBay orders from China are back to snails pace and many just going into that big 'ol black hole that is our Po, many never to return.

So sad, so many good deals on eBay, imagine consistent 3 week delivery from China, that would be awesome!

I finally got a local tracking number for my package but its now sitting with Customs. They requested a copy of the supplier invoice which I emailed to them this morning. Now the waiting continues......

@The_Mowgs , would you be able to assist me in finding out whether my package is anywhere being held up by any chance as well?

It left the USPS facility on the 6th of January according to them, I just want to find out whether its stuck at customs or something?

Does anyone know of a way to get the local tracking number for an item once it reaches JIMC or Capemail?

Other than phoning a number that nobody answers or sending an email to an unmonitored ticketing system email address?

Edit: to clarify, I have the international tracking number and I can trace it using many sites, however I want to see what the local tracking number is (ending ZA) instead of the international one (ending CN)

Thanks, but it does not show me the local tracking number. I want to be able to ask the person at my post office branch "where is parcel 000000ZA" and get an answer. They cannot track international parcels on their system.

Online sites only show "Capemail (HUB) - in transit" and that tells me very little :)
Add your tracking number to the end of this link after the = sign.

www.parceltrack.co.za/find.php?ParcelID=

In the first line under the "Trace Info" column it should show the local tracking number...

still nothing

Your parcel must have 'walked' out.

My parcel has been surprisingly quick.

I wish they'd fix that.

E-mailed SAPO on Monday to inquire about international parcel from USPS. Received parcel on Wednesday (thankfully). Received e-mail reply today to say that the parcel hasn't reached South Africa yet...

My parcel was delivered successfully to the destination... the UK.

My parcel was sent back to the UK and nobody can say why. Suddenly yesterday it was posted and it reached its destination today.
