SA Post Office Strike

I did see it on sapo tracking a month or so ago, it was at JMC. When tracking it from other sites it shows that it is in SA. Who can I email at sapo to get the local tracking number for it?

I also have one that didn't scan in and another one without tracking. What does one do in such a situation as they'll only send me a notification when it's been laying there for a month?

I emailed SAPO from their website but got no reply. Anyone that have a contact at SAPO that could help me please PM their email address.

Would appreciate it, they can post it publicly. I find myself in the same situation, and bet there is many more.

About 10 of my purchases from November was received in February. About 6 did not make it to me. My first losses in 10 years.

I made a few more purchases in Feb and none have arrived yet and no tracking no. One from early March was tracked JIMC April 5th and Durmail May 07.

Another from December was sitting a month at the local PO without notification.

I splashed out on a New Zealand TV series DVD set and lost out there too. Sadly there are only 2 episodes on the web to download.

Backlog at Customs. I've had a parcel stuck there since 25 April. Got through to them on the phone twice, and they confirm the tracking details of Customs.

You'll probably find if you go to your PO someone is sitting on it. :p :D

1 of the 7 items from 29th January ('Feb') came in today about 130 days later. Yesterday I added this item to my ebay cart and added tracking and then decided to give it a couple more days. That dvd is available at half price atm. I am gonna add it to my cart and follow up Monday lol.

If your post office is soooo pathetic why are you still bothering with international shopping? Accept it and carry on with life.

I ordered 2 items mid April. 1 Arrived end of May, other is mia. So yeah hit and miss. Most items I nowadays order through Aramex Global shopper, I will rather pay a little for shipping and know I get my item.

Because somethings you can only buy internationally.
I understand. I suggest you chaps write an 'official' letter to someone 'up the ladder' (preferably non AA employment) and explain that even by African standards their service is pretty bad. Just my 2C.

bwhahaha, you do know that people could email Mark Barnes with issues. Not that that has changed anything much. I think they are more interested in becoming a bank than be a post office.

You can contact Mark here:

I mailed him and the very same day I got a notification delivered saying there was a parcel waiting at the Post Office branch (Parcel had been stuck in Customs for 3 months). When I went to collect, the staff knew me by name - apparently Mark had called to make sure everything was in order. So overall a rather pleasant turn-around from a bad situation.

I just wish they'd sort out:
1. Their website
2. Their parcel tracking
3. Their communications - you should be able to set up an SMS notification that the parcel is at the branch. This is 2017!

Im glad your package got sorted this way, not everyone is that lucky though. Why does it even have to come to that? Just automate the whole process and get it done with.
