SA service delivery exceptional - Zuma

We have (had?) the best infrastructure in Africa, should this really be a surprise? How do we fare against other countries?

Why is it suddenly only African countries? So they admit that he lied when he said any other country? He actually meant any other African country?
Shouldn't that be "white people had the best infrastructure in Africa" ?

Yep, seems that our brainless "president" just had another brainfart! Stupid idiots (referring to ANC leadership)

Shouldn't that be "white people had the best infrastructure in Africa" ?

Sure, they could have kept that infrastructure that was in place and expand improve on it, not break it completely and then replace it with nothing. ;) Just look at the schools and education system for a very good example.

We are in Africa, or are we not ? So it makes sense to compare ourselves as such.
The majority of black people lived without water, electricity, sanitation etc something that majority of white people in SA would normally take for granted.

We are the economic power house of Africa, we have been the leading African country forever. Why don't you compare yourself with your peers, not with your lessers?

Malema even conceded last year that the Blacks were better off during Apartheid than they are now, so get off your high horse.

Look at public healthcare for a better example.

JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Health MEC is due to meet Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi and Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan on Tuesday to ask for a bailout.
Hope Papo, who was appointed during an executive council reshuffle in July, said there was a lack of funding in some of the province's hospitals.
He said his department had to use a large portion of its 2011/2012 budget to pay bills which had accumulated over years or risk having some services suspended.
"If we didn't pay those [debts], there was going to be a halt in almost all services in most of our hospitals."
The lack of equipment, safety and medication in hospitals has hogged headlines in recent months.Papo says another problem is the large number of critical vacancies still open at hospitals.

The former whites only schools are not broken. They have only taken more and more black children. Furthermore, new schools have been built by government in previously neglected areas. Up until this year there were no issues with textbooks delivery. So don't even try and rally on that point because that is like ignoring the work done in the other 17 years prior to this year's debacle. At least be objective when criticizing.

Um. So you consider 45-60 grade ones per class not broken? There is NO WAY those kids are getting the foundation they need to be successful.

What does this have to do with current service delivery? .
Saying we did beter than other African countries doesn't mean we did well. If we did better than somalia, ethopia or Zimbabwe it just mean the ANC did nothing. They took your taxes and had a party.
Oh wait yes.

Shouldn't that be "white people had the best infrastructure in Africa" ?

Yes, and now nobody has it. The other African countries are growing at tremendous rates and will soon overtake us. Simply because self-enrichment and corruption is at the order of the day.

Who was the last Police commissioner who was able to complete his whole tenure without corruption charges?

That you know of. Before this there was no whistle blowers :)
White schools are not broken because white children do not burn a schools, if they did they would end up in jail for it.

If you fail a grade three times, you are automatically put through to the next grade. The special classes are also being disbanded and the special needs children are being dropped back into the normal system where they will simply fail.

Only 40% of pupils who register for grade 1 remain in school up to grade 10. Cause for celebration is this not?

You seriously live in a dreamworld of your own and believe everything and all bullshiite the corrupt leader spins it seems. Great for you!

ABOUT one million learners who started school 12 years ago are unaccounted for.

This is according to the country’s top teacher unions, which say that of the total 1 444 018 pupils who enrolled in Grade 1 in 1998 only 552 073 (38%) of that cohort sat for last year’s matric *exams.

In a joint statement, the SA Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sadtu), National *Professional Teachers’ Organisation of SA (Naptosa) and SA Onderwysersunie (Saou) noted with concern that only 334 718 (24%) passed matric out of the 1.4 million who started school in 1998

Hopefully he is using his brains and conviction to run his current portfolio, Human Settlements.

+100 Better planning and implementation is needed.
No use building only houses, we need schools, parks, hospitals, trees in streets and everything that goes with these settlements. It is looney to think those people will move into the burbs, there is not enough place in the burbs. They need to create settlements that can become the burbs. Where people can build onto their houses and create new “up Towns”

Since when do you believe in what comes out of Malema's mouth ?

Our economical peers never had a systematic exclusion of the majority from the delivery of essential services. Therefore their service delivery improvement would be stable. Don't you think?

Wow - how about this statement:

Professor Yusef Waghid, the dean of the *University of Stellenbosch’s faculty of *education, said the school system failed learners, resulting in the high drop-out rates.

“OBE should never have been a system for South Africa. It requires of learners *capacities which they don’t have. It needs discipline, motivation and passion to do well, as well as the understanding that one needs to contribute to society,” he said

No wonder the future is bleak.

Actually, I posted an article from an independent body (SAIRR). Don't care much what Zuma says but when someone else says the same, I have to take notice.

Since when do you believe in what comes out of Malema's mouth ?

Apartheid is to blame for the bad service delivery

fixed.

So how did apartheid vanish out of the equation for all the successes like formal housing and the other 15 service delivery indicators ?
