Yes guys gambling can become an addiction.

And as for no clue comment kilo39, takes one to know one. In this case however I'm not talking empty bull. Just doesn't feel justified to expand energy trying to explain it to two of you. What I will say is that my opinion is formed form having first hand knowledge on what goes on in those online poker tables.

DigitalSoldger, it does not bother me that you spending your hard earned cash on unscrupulous online poker operators. You could be doing far worst things, like buying drugs laundering prostitution money ... etc...

What I expressed is my opinion which I believe is in best public interest. If you want gambling entertainment get few buddies to come over to your house and play away.

3 you have no idea what you talking about. money laundering on online poker tables is a serious problem which incidentally has very little to do with drug sales. it is generally used for offloading cash from stolen/compromised credit cards or other types of online fraud... TIP check statistics of online fraud and its impact on economy. fraud is organized crime business these days.. online gambling is facilitator... willing or unwilling the jury is still out.

Estimated Global revenue of online poker is $2 billion, whereas the estimated global drug revenue is $500billion (1998 is the best I could find, so this is a low estimate), even if all revenue generated by online poker was a "money laundering" transaction, it would still be less that one percent of gross. If anything, regulation rather than restriction would clean this up.

Has John Welch said anything? Only he as director of the NPA has the power to permit or not permit - only he can prosecute. The ANC has legislated, the ANC doesn't decide what the law says.

It would be a disaster because it means the NPA is no longer independent.
