SA vs London

DSTV sucks period, we are all aware of that. I am over 30 and I've never yet succumbed to the temptation to become a monochoice subscriber

Yes DSTV does suck, but frankly I hardly had the need to watch TV, and when I did, I would take out a DVD from the store. Clearly many other people also does, otherwise the videostores in SA would be out of business?

One other point - DSTV does not even come close to SKY :) You will also find many of the shows you pay for on DSTV are free on FREESAT :)

Don't even get me started on ADSL this side :)

Adverts in the UK used to raise my blood pressure, especially the ringtone ones and those damned insurance ones!!! OMG, my blood pressure...it just went up thinking about it

That's all relative.

If I tell you I know about a country where you would get your new drivers licence in personally delivered, 4 days for a new passport, Amazon CDs on the same day on your desk, etc... would you go there?

Did I remember to tell you my Amazon deliveries are free ;) And Yes, I would and did go there :)

Check out http://www.lovefilm.com/. I order my DVD rentals via the post. They get delivered the next day. I pay nothing for postage and in the last year, a DVD that I have ordered has NEVER gone missing in the post. When I arrive home from work they have been delivered - to my door :)

And remember - in countries where things happen fast, you are also expected to respond faster, especially with work deadlines etc. There is a price to pay.

Wow - if you want to be lazy at work, then I can think of a better country that SA - You have me - SA is indeed the place for lazy people. May explain the 6 month wait for passports that side?

The solution - SKY+

Internet there was excellent. I paid 10 pounds pm for a 1mb uncapped line with free international calls and I was going to upgrade to a 16mb line. Now my friend there has a 64mb line. :(

Here we pay 400% more than any other country for the same thing...

Who said anything about being lazy?
How about working yourself to the bone? Fine by me but not for many others.

6 months wait? A friend of mine recently got his passport after 6 weeks (applied at Paarl Home Affairs, in the Cape) exactly as estimated.

she was there 2 whole weeks and feels she can totally compare? ......... please man

Agreed. Got mine very quick as well and I live in JHB area.

If all of the above factors were considered, the chances of being attacked could have been minimised. The victims should have lived in a different part of Hermanus, to the east of the police station (e.g. areas like Voelklip), with a house that was better protected by higher walls all around.

Skinner, I don't believe there is any reasoning with a person who will point the finger at a victim. Seems you spew out crap just for the sake of it. I personally won't be wasting any further time replying to your posts.

Best you stay in SA and enjoy it.

Any particular reason you quote a post from me, from a different thread, in this thread?
What does it have to do with this thread?
Or are you trying to stir??

I'm sure you know the common denominator when it comes to all threads posted by you = BS.

Saying one must leave SA because of 20,000 murders per year might as well be upscaled by saying one must leave earth because of 200,000 murders per year.
