hmm I dont know about that, i think a phone call, bbm or tweet from president jz to his chinese counterpart would probably save this girls life
but yea thats probably going beyond his call of duty, and at the end of the day we're just another one of china's bitches

Not going to happen. She's either going to be executed or, if they are lenient, spend the rest of her life in a Chinese prison. When the DA eventually get to power they can attempt to have her released. And China will tell them to get stuffed as well.

China already gave her the death penalty, and this was upheld on appeal. She will be executed in a couple of hours from now.
 
One that got away & later wrote an autobiography worth a read:

The Damage Done is a book by Australian Warren Fellows. It portrays his time in the notorious Bangkwang prison, nicknamed "Big Tiger". Fellows was sententenced to life imprisonment in 1978, convicted of heroin trafficking between Bangkok, Thailand and Australia.

So people are saying Zuma must intervene so that this woman's life can be saved. Chances are that she is guilty because she was in possession of drugs, what other reason is there for her to have drugs in her person in China? Unless ofcourse she was framed, which is not the case here. So, chances are that she is guilty! Now, to those hypocrites out there who say her life must be spared, what about the lives of suspects who are killed by cops because of the so called shoot to kill instruction from Cele? Just because they are suspects means they are all criminals right?
 
The law says the penalty is death. Smuggling drugs especially to a country like China is beyond idiotic so I have no sympathy for someone who willing decides to ignore the law. I see no reason why anyone should have to intervene in this matter.
 
I'm not a big fan of Zuma as much as the next guy, but why should he intervene when she knew the risks? It's not like the Dalai Lama situation at all - that's when he did need to intervene.
 
Also this whole angle of submitting a parlimentary question. By the time they get through all that red tape, the crows will be picking her eyes out in the valley.

There's nothing this government can and will do for her. Or Zuma. Law is law. And the Chinese are notorious and frigid in the application of their laws.

Well there was an Australian currently imprisoned in some primitive sh**hole whose case was handled in a very slapdash fashion. For one thing the authorities either failed to weigh her baggage after she was arrested or refused to divulge the weight, so it could be compared to the check-in weight. It's the kind of thing that would get a case thrown out in any civilised country.

The Chinese and all the death penalty countries are a bunch of backward savages! Vengeance-by-government ftl!

and while i'd gladly support the genocide of the whole human race as that is the direction i'm leaning these days, and i'd gladly kill someone without any remorse who has hurt someone i love, i'd also want someone i love who has made a mistake to be protected.
