SABC acting chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng has been "released from his duties", the broadcaster said on Tuesday.

"Mr Motsoeneng will revert back to his position as group executive: provinces," it said in a statement.

"The board would like to thank Mr Motsoeneng for his contribution during his time as acting chief operating officer."

No details were given about why he was being removed from the position.

Mike Siluma, a veteran journalist and head of radio news and current affairs, was now appointed to the acting position.

Everyone must get a turn at the top...

And this, I stand corrected, is number 4 or is it 6....

They are firing them now before they can even make their appointments permanent.

Pretty soon, they will be firing them even before they can take up a temp position.

I dunno why they don't just make Zuma the CEO?

Maybe is is a form of internship....

You start at Transnet, then go on to SAA, then to SABC, then on to Eskom. After that you have a choice of setting up your own private tenderpreneurship or take an ambassadorial position and see the world until retirement

This Motsoeneng is the one who was found to not even have a matric, why is he still an executive. Show him to the door, he's the same idiot who censored the Metro FM show pre-Mangaung to suck up to the ANC.

Um, the COO is not the CEO, unless they forgot to mention that he was also the acting CEO...:erm:

Wow, but SAPA are a useless bunch...

Our highest executive does not have matric either....:D;)
Doesn't woodworking count?

Well he was only acting, just like the previous few who were acting to do the job but were actually "stealing".
