Hi folks

Just another short note to inform you that I have just done a short voice interview for SABC News (I assume it is for radio). Let’s hope the message gets across.

Regards,

RPM

Wow, the response and action from this community is really impressive :)
Well done guys...

Great news. We have to nail their asses to the wall now while they're vulnerable.

RPM you are my hero [in a gay sense], I'd go so far as to ask Peapod to throw some kisses your way, but that's not really a good idea :D.

straight-talking rpm was on SAFM pm live at about 17h10...sounded like they had given you 30 seconds and you crammed a whole lot of stuff in there :) - was a 5 or 6 minute piece on telkom's reaction with the lady who chaired the ICASA hearings respondiong to the telkom criticism by saying that the report was factual and comprehensive, was cross-referenced with the transcripts and as far as she was concerned was technically correct. she said that telkom were raising blanket criticisms and she challenged them to point out one factual inaccuracy

needless to say she rocks almost as much as The Administrator

I'm glad to hear ICASA's stand regarding Telkom's criticisms. I was very worried that they would back down, but it's good to know that they can see through Telkom's blanket of lies and half-truths.

Has there been any response from our illustrious MoC?

ROFL

at this stage has little to do with her in the sense of there being a process in place...the Minister will eventually be called upon to sign into law regulations (i think) and that will be interesting

No, but Pete the Plank said that Telkoms barking up the wrong tree.
He wood say that.

a BIG thank you

rpm, I don't know if you ever feel you get too many "thank you" and "well done" and all those fantastic comments, but you deserve every compliment and more. To all those like ic and Peapod (and forgive me not mentioning everyone else here) - a big THANK YOU for keeping it coming. It’s actually a pity that Telkom still don’t want to engage with the consumer in a constructive win-win relationship.
Never in my life have I seen such relentless consumer onslaught.

ICASA has done them and South Africa PROUD! Wow, well done ICASA! You are standing behind the user-community and for once the continuous abuse of the defenceless consumer is getting attention. Hopefully the media will also realise it’s time to stand behind the consumer. Power to the People.

i think with political parties now backing icasa as well, poison ivy can no longer do as she pleases and get away with it. if she backs telkom on this, then the **** will really hit the fan

And if Telkom won't deliver ADSL anymore, I am sure hoping the SNO would take the opportunity to step in. I am sure they will scratch up 500 000 users in no time. With plenty to follow when online shopping and other forms of entertainment activities take off.

Telkom was such a waste of Taxpayers Money over the last few decades.
What have they achieved that any other Telecom Company couldn't do blindfolded with their hands tied behind their backs?
They have no imagination. They are really a sad bunch.

I can just follow suite....nothing more to say. Thanks to our community here and to rpm in particular to give us such a platform.
This forum has become like a second home to me and boosted my life quite tremendously.
