You need either a static IP or a dynamic DNS so that the app knows where to find your home network. Then you need to forward the correct ports on your router to your PC running SAB/SB/CP. Thus your PC also needs a static IP on your network, you can set this on your PC or my preference is to reserve an IP address for it on your router.

All of a sudden MWEB's News server requires a username and password? Anybody know anything?

P.S. I don't even like MWEB - unfortunately my situation is forcing me to use MWEB?

This is a very useful thread. I'm a NZB noob and I installed SABnzb and downloaded my first file and I got the following error: "Unpacking failed, archive requires a password". I used NZB.cc as the search engine.

How does one know whether a file requires a password before downloading it?
Would a better NZB search engine not display files that need a password?
If so, please recommend a good NZB search engine.

See if you can find the passwords on their site. Then create password.txt file, enter each password in different line and copy to root sab folder.

Then in sab settings under password file, just select location

Yip, also downloaded 3gb to find its password protected, best bet if there's a password is to re-downlaod.

http://www.nzbindex.nl - often lists whether there is a password or not.

Thanks Chris. It came with a readme.txt file which gives a url to get the password, but I thought that was a bit suspicious.
