Hey guys, I've read the other threads on them now, and still haven't found anyone who can just assure me that their SAIX service is the same as most other ISP's.. i.e. normal.

Unfortunately they have their own spambot of sorts, checkblog, http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/search.php?searchid=2207734 who should be banned imo.
Pop's into random conversations about IS speeds and advertises sainet with no relevence, and gives IS a bad name at the same time.

Anyway, can anyone recommend them because they do have great prices. Also wondering if their is any contract on the Access only product? I'm not looking for the One Price service.

Thanks.

Phone Michelle at Sainet and speak to her. She was very helpful when I called through before I went with Webafrica...

Exactly.... :/

My problem is just that in the other threads some people have said that their service might be saturated. I obviously can't trust their employees or spambots so I'm just looking for one person to tell me it works fine. :D

Their prices are extremely cheap so they must be doing shomething, I've already gathered that it's a shaped SAIX line, which is fine.

Hi

I've been using Sainet since last year and have been happy with their service. Speeds do slow down occasionally (in peak times) but not by much!

Thanks, I never noticed this reply. I suppose a slow down is normal in peak times. As long as the line speed is good and there are no serious problems.

Anyone else, I could still use some reassuring :P

Are the international pings the same as normal SAIX etc?

/joins EHV on the podium, trying to suss out the impressions of these guys

Hi,

I use Sainet's 6 GB service and it's just like any other SAIX account. Their usage system does have many bells and whistles and there is no client control panel for ADSL, but you get what you pay for (in terms of add-ons).

I do not notice ANY difference in level of service between my account and any of the other SAIX based accounts I have used in my past. This connection is not "saturated" - if that is even an applicable term for SAIX accounts and I highly recommend them.

I am also by no means associated with them, btw :)

Best wishes

Thanks a lot, I'll probably be going for the 4/6 Gig account then :D

I don't mind about the customer service or bells and whistles, I can usually take care of things myself. The savings you get are well worth it.

Lol, I just read thier ad wrong... It was on the MyADSL News page check it out here, I read 384 line + 5GB ( i didn't see the . in front of the 5) for R169 per month, I almost fell over :p

Yea, I also fell for that.

/me shouts "FALSE ADVERTISING!"

I am looking at the 2GB package at the moment. The only thing that is putting me off is that I have heard from multiple people that they are slow. :( I will give their trail account a run for it's money tomorrow and see for myself. :D
Sainet Saix VS WA Saix :D

They have a Nice Online Subscribe function. Just check this out! You can enter all your bank account details etc etc on a 0bit secure page. Nice

Hi,

Please post your findings here. I find it unfair that Sainet is considered slow when the bulk of ther network is out of their hands - they only handle DNS. Just because SAIX is slow at certain times and they are on a Sainet account doesn't mean it is Sainet's cause.

Must I run some speed tests for you? Please inform me of any specific ones.

Best wishes

Hi,

Thanx to a Buggy Telkom ADSL Verify site, my Verification went "corrupt". Go Telkom. So I will only be able to run the tests tonight. Will see what speeds I get VS my WA account.

If they had the following, I would use them:

1.) Credit card payments on a month to month basis; and
2.) If you did not need to use "prepaid registered post" to cancel your account.

Hi,

We've decided to give Sainet a try as well, in the hopes that just this once, the cheaper option is not necessarily the worse option.

Will update here regarding their speeds and service

On Sainet at the moment. No problems to report as of yet in terms of speed and client service.

Great to hear it, I'm glad someone other than me is willing to stand up for this company, your report goes for me currently too ;)

Sainet just passed the Response time test!
Sent a random question to the sales "department" @ 13:23. Got a sensible response @ 13:29. A mere 6 minutes later. Their helpline also passed the test by picking up and responding to questions within minutes. Go Sainet!

Well, I'm connected via Sainet now and the surfing is decent enough. So-far, so-good!

i play world of warcraft on sainet and the pings are exactly the same as they were on my WA saix account. so all in all i'd say they are good.
