Sainet

I use webafrica and sainet. They both work 100% but WA has a much better client control panel but then again SAINET is cheaper

SAINET hasn't given me a single problem yet

I also use both of them. And I agree, WA's "client control panel" is the best, sainet's is non-existent.

i play world of warcraft on sainet and the pings are exactly the same as they were on my WA saix account. so all in all i'd say they are good.

Hi,

I agree - people must understand there is no difference between SAIX accounts apart from the ISP setting up their own DNS servers (not in all cases, I would assume the DNS servers set up by Telkom would be compatible but I have not tried this and am therefore unsure if this is true) and what level of support they offer.

There is no "saturation" or whatever they where accused of having - it angers me that people can assume this or even state it simply based on their competitive pricing - it makes me think these people have a hidden agenda.

Great :)

Not too worried about the control panel, I need the gigs. :D

Then Sainet is the way to go Ekhaatvensters. I wonder how they are able to do this. R79 gives you 2GB per month. Same price as telkom, and they give you a measly 1GB.

I've been on SAINET since the beginning of the month. I have not not noticed any difference in speed and reliability of the connection compared to what Axxess offers.

Sales/account/tech support have also been more than satisfying.

It's working fine for me here at work this morning

I have always thought the same thing, I just read the last thread about them here and people talked about the saturation etc.. which I didn't know could exist.

Their pricing is more than just competitive though, it's the best. :D

If you don't get the modem from them is it a month-to-month contract? Pity about the activation fee though.

Well lets hope its better than their other services,
I have had an analogue leased line and a wireless connection to them in the past and both were terrible!
They might have sorted things out now but i know people who are on their larger VPN-ADSL bundles who are extremely unhappy with the line speeds.

But if they are just reselling SAIX accounts which seems to be the case then line speeds etc arent controlled by them and the speeds should be the same as anyone else.
I personally wont get an account through them after all the hassles I had, even if their offices are located less than a K away from my house!

Yes, then it's a month to month "contract". The activation fee is more like, a fee that allows you cheaper rates for the rest of the "contract".

See it like this. When comparing Sainet's 2GB offer with WA's Prepaid 2GB offer:
By month 2, you would have paid a total of R99+R79+R79 to Sainet
and a total of R70+R70 + R70+R70 to WA if you went with them.
So R257 for 4GB @ Sainet against R280 for 4GB @ WA. You win. If you went with Axxess's 2GB options, you would only start to see this savings in month 3. :D

?

I thought Sainet worked like the other ISP's, charging per calendar month. This does not seem to be the case. It's a new month and my usage does not show that I have been allocated my allowed 2GB. But I suspect that this will be done tomorrow, as I joined them on 03/07/07.

But after having a look at my usage stats, I saw this:

Date & Time of request: 2007-09-02 13:49
TOTAL TIME LOGGED ON: 11467 minutes
CAP ALLOCATION: 2 GB (HardCap)
DATA SENT TO CLIENT: 1.746 GB
DATA SENT FROM CLIENT: 0.288 GB
DATA TOTAL: 2.034 GB
CAP LEFT: -0.034 GB

How is this even possible? My internet still works like a charm. . . I thought I was HardCapped as stated above, and that their FlexiBilling was only available on request? Am I being billed for this?

I noticed a similar thing on Saturday morning too. I specifically checked before joining up 2 weeks ago, that FlexiBill was not applied by default. I will call them to verify, later on.

Hi,

I have had the exact same thing myself - basically Michelle said I must ignore the '-' sign and treat it as a positive. It is not FlexiBill as far as I know and it gets reset to zero at the start of each calendar month.

As I said - their usage system may not be up to scratch, but the quotas certainly make up for it in my opinion.

Sainet does not seem to have a 24hr tech support number - only until 8PM weekdays, 12noon on Saturdays and nothing on Sundays? That is a bit worrying - what do you do when running into problems over the weekend?

Easy. Get a voucher for ENGEN or Pick n' Pay :p

Sainet doesn't run into problems :)
