Yeah, I think Real Black is a feature from the higher 6 Series and up now seen in 5 Series. Could it be the AR coating? I remember one of the features means the AR coating, could've been Real Black "filter"...

Sounds like just a dynamic contrast thing. Eish, wish these guys would just speak english instead of "marketing" sometimes... And just have a flipping comparison thing that works too.
 
I saw the 51E550 at Hirsch's yesterday for R10k. It doesn't look like it has an AR filter.

In my experience 100Hz is one of those things you wont miss if you've never had it.

But once you've gotten used to it (properly set, not too aggressive to avoid 'soap opera effect') you wont want to go back to 50Hz.
 
Eish saw an LG 51" in a well lit game just now and it looked terrible.

Lol :p There was actually one set that stood out, I think it was a 46ex520. They had quite the wall of tv's at that game and it managed to make all the others look like total rubbish. I think it happens to be on special as well...
 
Wifi: The E says "Wireless LAN Built-in Yes" but also says "Wi-Fi ready" ???

E has:
real black filter
smart tv stuff - can maybe use this with plex and stick my hp ms in the lounge rather
2 included pairs of 3d glasses
1 less hdmi port

Wide Color Enhancer
Digital Noise Filter

Overall it looks like it is probably worth the R1100 extra. (reportedly 10k at hirschs (for the E) vs 8888 at cats (for the D))

The current Plex client for Samsung isn't compatible with the E range, you'll probably have to wait for the next release.

I quite like both technologies! My plasma is great for TV, movies, sport and especially SD DSTV. My LCD is OK for TV, excellent as a PC screen, and great for movies via PC, even SD.

Now instead of pointing fingers... Can you fault my picture? What exactly is so troll about it? :confused:
 
Went to hirsches. They are expecting stock next week. price a bit less than 10k. :)
