these where the phones I needed to pick from...the best the budget allowed without me paying in more than R100![]()
Nice. Looks like the best choice out of the ones on that list![]()
How is the typing? I am not sure that I will ever be able to type faster on a small qwerty keyboard than on a normal keypad with T9 on...Had it for a week now and all I can say is very very nice
Getting a 8gig MSD card this weekend.
Sound is great, screen is awesome and everything works well -> great.
Really don't think this is the most powerfull phone on the market by a long shot but for the price I got it for I am more than happy. (I also don't run a business from my phone)
Now I just hope it lasts a year
Ps anyone else have one?

Get it here: Download the Vodafone version : F700AMGJ8.
http://translate.google.com/transla...refox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=gvl
It's a Dutch page. but the instructions is pretty clear.
After you installed the Vodafone Firmware it will be defaulting to Dutch Language [keyboard will be european : Y = Z etc] , use the instructions [also on the page] to revert it back to English [South Africa] . It will also then default to all the Vodacom settings..convenient.
Oh and it ignore the "disadvantages" they listed. It refers to the default apps of the firmware [i.e. opera mini comes with the firmware, but it doesn't work..however if you install it again seperately..the new one works] .
Devill said:can you download the firmware to pc and then install it on your phone or do you have to download it directly to your phone? how is it done?
im a noob at these things
Well that's the only way to do it afaik. The site i linked gives you the exact steps + downloads (firmware + the pc app to flash your phone). So yes, download to PC, run a little app , click some button on your phone to make it go into the "download new firmware" mode, plug into pc...and flash. Relatively easy.
The firmware is about 60MB download.
I suggest download both firmwares on the site [original samsung one and the vodafone one]. So that you can easily revert back if you don't like a certain firmware.
