I just got a call from MTN Ottery that my Samsung Galaxy Tab P7500 will be ready this afternoon. Excited now, can't wait.

Did or can you ask them about the cash price?

I went to cellucity in pavillion......I asked the guy there how much the tablet was and he quoted me over R8000 for it.

I said no way, I rather get it from incredible connection and he told me to wait and went to the back room and then came back quoting me R7300. When I said ok, I will take the tablet, he walked to the back and had a chat with the other salesman and then they suddenly did not want to sell me the tablet!!!!

Within those few minutes, the tablet SUDDENLY belonged to another customer who was to pick it up the next day. They then said that they couldnt sell me the tablet and that I should go get it elsewhere.

I ended up getting it from incredible connection for R7499.

That shop seems really dodge. Especially the 2 sales people in it. I would never trust them.

what office productivity suite are you guys using? Paid or Free? and does the 10.1 come with HDMI port? to project to HD screen or projector? (I should check out the specs). Looking at getting one of these soon.

The sles lady told me it's was only for contracts that was approved since the ad broke.
I asked for top up on the 2gb for R399 contract and they approved it and now I'm only paying R339 p/m.

There is no HDMI port, you will have to get a samsung HDMI adapter.

I tried this, but not exactly like the way they showed due to me being out of the house and so far it looks like it has worked..

charged tab somewhere around 97%
edit: remove charger
shutdown tab (not put in hibernate/sleep) for 1.5 hours.
edit: turn tab on and run it for 30-40 min. or whatever it takes to drop charge to 65%.
shutdown tab again for 5 hours (overnight).
*edited values

Yesterday morning, I just switched it on to check, It was 64%.... Then last night just switched on for a min to check again and it was still on 64%... Hopefully I would have any issues with it again... Thanks Ricco

I think I got lucky with my price... My brother went to the same store as me and they just told him there's no stock.. Also when I bought my 1, the slip showed price/adjustment so not sure if they quoted me the wrong price, also of the other sales guys asked the sales lady helping me the price and I heard him telling her he taught it was much more that what I was paying..

Does the Incredible stock also come with the free book case ?

Has anyone tried installing apps by copying files from a PC (apk files)... If so can you please post a guide or a link on how to do it..

I haven't even tried plugging mine in - I just emailed the apk to myself and opened it :p

Do you just have to open the apk thru the file manager, or is the a "special" way of installing the apps ?

So far I only plugged my tab in once to copy some ebooks over, and for charging I use the ac plug..

No incredible doesnt come with the free book case. I didnt even know that the book cases were free. Although I didnt take the tab from celluCity, I took the book case which was the original samsung branded one. Really good case.

I still felt that I got ripped off for the case. The people in that store look like they charge people according to what they think the price is. I am really annoyed with that store. I might just end up drafting a complaint letter to the manager.

I was willing to spend cash but really looked like a fool there.

I'd love to sign and get one :/

But having Vodacom in JHB means very little signal - and I'm already spending thousands per month for no service

MTN have a deal?

MTN have it for R399 IIRC

just pop it on your cc over the same contract term...

Remember to select Unknown Sources in Setup -> Application menu as well, if done opening an apk in most file managers will allow you to install it, even via a LAN connection. Check out File manager HD or ES File Explorer, both with windows networking built in.

I finally ordered my 10.1. I originally planned on get it here but I just couldn't justify spending 7.5k on a tablet. I mainly am going to use it at home in any case so 3G wasn't really a necessity. Similarly, I didn't have a need for 32Gb, 16 should be enough for me. If they had brought the 16Gb Wifi version for +-R5000 I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

In any case, I decided to order it from Amazon in the US using shipito as a shipping agent. I will keep you post it on the process if anyone else is interested in ordering but doesn't know how. I decided to go for Amazon and shipito as opposed to ebay as it actually turned out cheaper.

So far I am paying $500 for the tablet, $3.99 for 1 day shipping (prime trial). Shipito charges $8.50 and shipping will come to $37 with Fedex. If I am lucky, the tablet will arrive by Friday. In total and that includes customs, shipping, etc. it will cost me betweeen R4500 and R4600.
