Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet local availability

Stupid question... put wasn't the 10.1 supposed to support microsd?

initally it was, cause they were images of the 10.1 with an micro sd slot...they somehow then shafted plans for it in the final stages.
You can connect a usb stick with the usb adapter though.

I also read reviews and watched some videos with the SD slot, that's 1 of the main reasons I waited for the new 10.1 instead of taking the 10.1v... but as long as I can stream content from my server I think I ok with out the sd slot..

Well.... Replaced again.... Inspected in store, couldnt find dead pixels. Do have one spot with a dust particle under the glass... But happy with no dead pixels

I would rather buy direct that use one of those importers...
With MyU you charges are gonna be
($499 + $50) * 1.1 * 1.14 * USDZAR .

About R4900 all in..

Well ordering directly makes hardly any difference at all. There is the odd seller on ebay who sells it for $480/490 but and asks $75 for shipping. So it works out more or less the same.

I think I have a faulty battery on my tab.. Charged on Sunday... used it on Monday for a few minutes and it was fine.. Then Shut it down (not just the screen, but a shut down)..

Tuesday evening when I got home, tried to switch it on, and nothing.. So I plugged in the charger and the battery/charging "meter" showed up empty with a yellow triangle.. Left it to charge and then switched it on, used it for a while and then shut down before going to sleep (battery around 80%)..

Wednesday evening, same thing, completely dead.. had to charge again before using it..

since Monday, the only things I did was use pulse, youtube, email and tweetcaster, haven't streamed any files on the LAN or anything.

Also On Monday, I put on a new screen guard (sticker) and tried out a new "smart-case" (like an ipad case), but removed the case after a few minutes as I preferred the book case.

Is it possible for the screen protector to cause battery drain? I read on one website that its possible, but that was on another device (not a tab)..

Hmmm... mine lasts about a day of frequent use.

Only on its second charge now - so I'll monitor it... the only way I can see a screen protector using battery is if the screen is on and its registering as a touch... otherwise it'd also use the battery in its case when the case touches the screen.

I also saw that on another forum.. But It was registering as touch afaik.. I removed the screen protector last night.. and did an overnight charge 11pm to 5am.. also switched off wifi & gps (no sim

Do you also shut down or do you just switch off the screen.. And the battery do you wait for it to drop below a certain Percentage before charging..

I usually let it run flat before charging... (on any device) - so far I've just left it on, never shut down

There's a widget you can put on the main screen that shows how many applications are running, if you click it, it lets you close them, and there's also a memory tab, I've found even with all my applications closed, its still using a lot of memory, and when I clear memory it speeds up considerably.

I have that widget and also noticed the memory usage a bit high even after closing everything.. I usually close all apps before switching off

I just switched on my tab now and the battery has jumped to 64% with no usage, down from 99% this morning before being shut down..

Thanks for the link, looks like that could fix my problem.. Have you tried it ?

Planning on getting a Tab 10.1 next month.....can't wait

I'm enjoying mine... but wondering if its worth the difference over the iPad cost wise... its seriously sluggish in comparison.

have no battery issues here, charged mine on sunday and since then used it every morning for like 30min before work and every evening for an hour max.
I put it to sleep and dont switch it off completely. As of this morning the battery was at 54%.

So what is the best cash price for the 10.1 at the moment? Does any place already have it for less than 7.5k?
