Samsung Galaxy Note 2

CWM recovery. Flash Omnirom from SD card. Flash latest PA 4.4 GAPPS from SD Card. Wipe Dalvik cache. Wipe cache partition. Factory Reset. Reboot.

You're done...
The only reason why I haven't flashed OMNI is that there are very few features from what I read.

Currently on DN3 V3 Rom and enjoying the "Note 3" experience :)

In terms of features it is a little flat. But what I like about Omni is that they support OTA updates of their ROM, so as new features are added you can just install them as necessary...

That sounds good...I will hold out a little to see what the DN3 v3.1 offers, otherwise I am jumping to Omni!

I am assuming battery life is good seeing as not a lot is running? The DN3 rom sits at about 1.2GB ram all the time. Not slow at all, but I do think it might influence batt life...

I really hope they get round to adding Halo to Omni...Its an awesome feature!

Do you get notifications when new features are added? I had a look at the OMNI gerrit and it looks like they add/fix/change a fair amount with every nightly.

Have you added any features OTA since flashing the rom?

I just looked at Omni and it looks fun. I might try it sometime later today.

I remember a year or 2 ago when I still had my S2 I tried Cyanogen, but felt like I missed some Samsung features. Can't remember what they were though.

What do you guys think is a fair price for a year old Note 2, still under warranty, but body (not screen) slight scratched on the edges? R4000?

Currently about R3000/3500 at most for one in good condition.

Just finished flashing Omni. It's surprisingly stable and very fast. Impressed so far. Some XDA users reported that YouTube videos were only playing audio. Works fine for me.

I decided to give OmniRom a try, and I'm glad I did.

Initially I was impressed with how smooth it was. Then I decided to switch from dalvik to the new art runtime, and OMG. I have never actually encountered an experience like this on my phone before. And it's not because of the clean cache. It was already clean. This is just insanely fast and responsive, and perfectly smooth. I am properly impressed. And the best thing is that all of my apps work perfectly. Not a single FC or hang...

I gave ART a go and you're right on the responsiveness but sadly it force closes the Google gallery and camera apps (I'm on the 29 Nov nightly build)

I've got no issues on that front. The only app that has an issue is pingtools that FCs...

To those of you who have installed the 4.3 India Firmware, which carrier are you on? I'm assuming that my device will play nicely with Vodacom after I have installed the firmware?

From what I understand, it's only the modem that might be different, but it should be fine. I currently have the DDEMJ9 modem and it works perfectly with Vodacom.

Is it true that you get curry & rice + Sachin Tendulkar wallpapers with the official Indian ROM?

That is just a nice touch, if true.

DJ is there an effective way to back up all apps, and also where they were located on home screen, or do you set up from scratch again?

On Friday I flashed Ditto. It's quite nice! This morning I also flashed their new Zip which gives Ditto an OTA updater and the update to 3.1.1 is now downloading via OTA updater :)

Will we ever get the 4.3 official sa release? Its starting to become annoying now. Ive been womandogging on sa samsung mobile fbpage for a month they dont even care to respond.
