Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Mind you, with all the complaints about the crappy wifi and huge text in the Messaging app, Samsung might send out a quick fix.

Not long.

Samsung released it mainly for Gear compatibility.

Not sure if I want to go back to 4.1.2, my phone is so incredibly smooth.

Its really nice.

I had no problem with 4.1.2 but I do with some things in 4.3 like wifi issues and oversized fonts in some places.

Will probably give it a few weeks ...
 
Sitting in the same spot getting 4 bars of full wifi signal. Two seconds later it's down to 1 and staying there. Ek hoop win ook al aan dit gewerk het kry 'n moerse kramp in sy gat op hierdie presiese oomblik!

Any way to disable the wifi speed/quality check that ends up disabling your wifi?

Ok, those are not a wifi issues per se, they are connection issues by default it looks for the better connection to the net. If your ADSL connection is getting slammed it goes looking for a better mobile connection. Just turn off Auto network switch under wifi settings, (menu button) advanced.

NOPE. I see this has worked for a few people but mine and the SO's was never enabled to begin with. Problem persists.

I have a Huawei B683 HSPA+ router and got the "your wifi is unstable" message twice.

Samsung's software is crap, and there are already patches from XDA.

It comes as no surprise, as I remember with the Italian Gingerbread 2.3.6 ROM, they released two updates for the crappy wifi.
 
With regards to the poor battery life, just remember its a new ROM with new graphics drivers, battery always take a while to adjust.

But the phone's display looks absolutely beautiful now.

Every minute I am loving my Note 2 more. :)

Looks the same to me :D I'm sure the constant disconnect and reconnect issues with the Wifi is also taking it's toll on the battery life.

I think they might have played around with a few settings, everything looks a bit smoother to me.

Maybe its just me. :)
 
Ok, there is no easy way to go back from 4.3 to 4.1.2, as 4.3 installs a new bootloader. :(

If you download the 4.1.2 ROM from samfirmware.com and flash it via Odin, you will get an error.

I've read on XDA that there is a patch out to fix the bootloader and allow you to downgrade, but have not tested it yet.

Also looked around for a replacement SMS app, but really nothing that I like. I'll keep on searching.

Samsung & Knox sucks.
