Samsung Galaxy Note 2

interesting, wonder if they pulled the plug on the OTA.

Anyway, you can download it off the sammobile site and install manually if you want

I went and installed 4.4.2 N7100XXUFND3, this firmware has no problems, however when I installed 4.3 via OTA the Vodafone cloud app also installed together with vodacoms apps... the phone was unresponsive at times but when I disabled the Vodafone cloud together with vodacoms apps because you cant uninstall it... the phone is great and fast like it was when I first got it.

My question is does anyone know how to uninstall the Vodafone cloud app, everytime I restart my phone I have to disable the app first in order for the phone not to lag

Still 4.4.2? I know the S4s have just had an update with no version change. My ZA rom hasn't updated

So my Note 2 jumped. Was sitting on the loo this morning and it just jumped out of my hand.

I call it crackface now.

What are the options for repair? I see the glass is available on bidorbuy however that will be a bitch to seperate from the samoled not true?

Eek, I wouldn't trust something as important as a screen to anyone else beside Samsung themselves

I replaced the screen on my wife's Motorola two or three years back. Check out some Youtube vids, see if you're comfortable with the repair work. If you are, buy some surgical gloves and be very patient while you're busy with the repair work.

I was not patient enough and completely ruined it.

Does anyone have a GN2 with a damaged motherboard or so that they wish to donate? I need a screen asap. I can pay very little but I can arrange courier to collect from you anywhere guys. Please help. I need a phone urgently. Even a phone with cracked glass...as long as the lcd and digitiser is still functioning.

Dropped my Note 2 in water 10 days ago. Opened and dried it but doesn't switch on anymore. Need to disassemble it and soak it in warm water for a few hours and dry it in the sun for a few days. If that fails I'll consider donating it for parts.

Double ouch but hopefully the two of you can help each other out.

Dismantle it and immerse the parts in rice. It draws moisture out brilliantly.

It all depends wether the battery contacts saw water before the mainboard did.

Has anybody ruined their Note2 motherboard? I am urgently after some spare parts. Screen most important to be in tact.

Please respond here if anyone can donate or sell to recoup losses.

I am running out of phones to borrow and still a long time until upgrade.

Hello Everybody.

Firstly again many thanks to @biometrics for your efforts.

I have not yet succeeded with my note 2.

I am switching it on at least and recovering my files thanks a million. I would however love to get her back and operational again. My screen, digitizer and lcd is destroyed.

I implore all of you ... any roughed up Note 2s that you can donate. Even if the glass is cracked, as long as the LCD + digitizer still functions.

I absolutely need my device back and my mainboard and chassis is still immaculate.

Please contact me if anybody can assist.

I see the Galaxy Note 2 on FNB's site for R149 p/m. Will it still be a good choice? Maybe a cheap upgrade for my Galaxy S4?
Hardware wise it's still solid. I bet Marshmallow rom will be available soon on XDA????
