Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Cell C launch, pricing revealed

Good pricing, but will it be LTE.

Doubt it..... They rarely sell the LTE version of ANY device..... It sucks. I think only Vodacom and MTN actively sells the LTe versions where they can....

but how do they sell us such data intensive phones with lousy data packages? How long is this going to go on for?

Is the LTE version the one with the SnapDragon 800 chipset?

That's what I was expecting and was going to port. Oh well, another 2 years with Vodacom OR do I wait for Telkom Mobile... :erm:

gonna wait for TM, hoping cellc will make a last minute revision to incl the extra data tho
if not I will prob just get the S4...

Samsung launched the device to the South African market on Friday, 27 September 2013 at a recommended retail price of R8,999.

Cell C also said that it would sell the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for R9,799 without a contract.

Cell C - your prepaid pricing is a stuff-up of Note ! (based on the above, no pun intended).

You also charge about R1,000 more than anywhere else in SA for the Lumia 520 (your price = R2,899).
The 520 can be bought in the US for the equivalent of about R800, now - we're therefore being ripped-off by all retailers & networks here - http://www.wpcentral.com/deal-alert-att-nokia-lumia-520-drops-below-80-frys

yesterday i asked the guy why no 1gb of data like the s4 and he said the s4 is a premium device. dafudge?! there was huge (pun!) hype about the note3 and big news when it was unveiled and now it get treated like this? i was hoping they'd put in some effort with the note3, but it looks like they too shy.

they did say that i can buy data bundles and add it to the contract. so kind of them.

Vodacom buy large quantities of handsets; thus they get it for much cheaper from Samsung (and get it first as well!).

CellC is not in the same league.....

And yet CellC can offer more data :-(
Pondering how long to wait for Telkom Mobile or whether to just called Vodacom upgrades already

I'd wait for TM.

This isn't a crapple- there's no need to be buy into the conspicuous consumption thing and be first with the device. Let the dust settle and pick up the best offer, not the first one!

Yes, LTE version also has 4K video recording.

I'd wait for TM.

Exactly what I'm doing, It's very hard to resist though, walking into each Vodacom store asking if they have in Stock... All though I fully know I will never move to VodaCON...

Hopefully Telkom waits for all the offers from the others and gives as a sub R600 deal with the 5Gb of data :D:D:D:D

Source?

Esquire and other places sell phones for cheaper than either. I don't think our tiny market in SA is enough to make Samsung give discounts, it's more to do with greed/margins.
