Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Multi tasking performance has got nothing to do with CPU performance so I don't know what that has got to do with this discussion. Is it so hard for you to accept that the iPhone has a better CPU.

Whatever. I can't be bothered with this anymore.

Here it is.. normal use. Not watching videos constantly. What average battery life do you get?

That looks pretty good.

I get a whole day of solid usage out of it.

But I almost always have it on charge so it's hard to monitor it very accurately.

I'd say roughly twice as long battery life as my galaxy s3.

And I have a lot of notifications activated. WhatsApp. Facebook. Etc etc.

All in all, loving the phone :)

Didn't this discussion start with the iPhone 5s being better than the Note 3?

Not just the CPU comparison. The Note 3 is better overall IMHO.

If you care to read you will find the opposite to be true. The Note 3 for example beats the iPhone on GPU performance. And it has to because it pushes way more pixels compared to the 4inch iPhone which has a lower resolution. CPU performance is another matter all together. The A7 is a beast, it is a at the top of the food chain for now. I agree on battery and RAM, the Androids are clearly superior.

The Note 3 runs on a superior screen resolution (1080p), compared to the puny display and resolution of the iPhone 5S.

Off course it will look better in the benchmarks than the Note 3, but it's simply not a fair comparison & I am actually very disappointed with Anandtech for trying to show it as a direct comparison between two very different phones.

Oh well, Anandtech has become just like Engadget, total Apple fanboy site.

No it did not. It started because I said this:
"By the way, the iPhone 5s crushes all the phones you mentioned on "pure power""
At no time did I say the iPhone is a overall better device, just that it has a better CPU.

No dude. You need to separate CPU vs GPU performance. The Note 3 has a better GPU but not CPU.

So now AnandTech is now an Apple apologist because Apple designed a better chip, according to you. Get a life, seriously...

Huh? People are really suggesting that the Note 3 has a better SoC than the A7? No, just no.

The A7 is miles ahead of any other mobile SoC at present, regardless of iOS not coming close to actually being able to use the full potential of it.

Unbelievable but yeah they are.

Is the auto-dim really irritating anyone else?

Google tells me it's a feature built into the kernel that you can't turn off because Samsung screens run hot on full brightness it just randomly dims from time to time even on full brightness with all power saving and auto brightness settings off :/

Of course. I mean Apple said so, so naturally it's true. Just like they invented multi-touch and video calling. And rectangles with rounded edges. Don't let the facts (as pointed out by others in this very thread) get in the way of anything.

Also, there are 2 different systems in the Note 3. The N9000 is very different from the N9005..

Anyone here know where to get these original Spigen cases for the Note 3 in SA? These to me look the best and are not that bulky

I could buy it from Spigens eBay store but I saw online that cell phone cases are charged 30% import duties and 14% VAT in SA :wtf:

There are a few for sale on BoB but im not sure if these are really originals

You don't pay import duty or tax on anything less than R500. I got mine about a month ago from Amazon, I paid R203 shipping included.

If I buy two at R260 each plus R160 shipping? Would that mean I would then have to pay taxes?
