Sorry man I was rushing that day. But you got it right. Hows the screen on time now after 2-3 battery cycles?

Holy Cows from India! I unplugged the charger at 8am this morning. Screen time is 55mins. Battery at 69%. ETA 22 hrs left!

My wife is really jealous, but she's got an N-900 and is on 4.4.4. Do you think if I root her phone and just install idleKernel with the changes you made, it'll help? She doesn't want to lose her current setup or install a custom ROM (safety in what you know).

IdleKernel and CivZ are not available for N900. You could try that Aurora Rom and use a kernel app on the default kernel.

BUT...

In my experience with women . The last thing you want is for the Rom to be buggy and be left with a complaining woman as to why hers is not like yours etc. Definitely stick with the 'if it ain't broke' on this one.

This is for my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (LTE). If you have another model, you shouldn't follow these instructions without making sure everything is compatible:

1) I installed version 3.5 of Temasek's port of CyanogenMod 13 (CM13). You can find the latest version here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/hlte-spr-vzw-temaseks-unofficial-t2953375. You'll obviously need a rooted phone and will need to flash the SuperSU version linked on that page (and GApps for the Google suite, which most people will want).
2) I flashed idleKernel. The homepage http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...nt/kernel-idlekernel-leankernel-fork-t3241947 and download folder for CM13: https://idlekernel.com/cm13.0/
3) I installed Kernel Adiutor (ROOT) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=en. Under CPU settings: underclock 19500 MHz, interactive, core saving; and in Misc, set TCP congestion to Westwood.

Her "About Device" page only says SM-N900, without anything after (e.g. there was SM-N900A). She is actually quite tech savvy, which is why she's okay if I were to root it. I did notice that she's still actually on 4.4.2. Maybe an upgrade will improve? Is there anything that I can apply to just the stock ROM if I do root it?

I have the N9005 as well :) as I type this my battery is at 3% after about 10 hours

And are you still able to use Shealth and the Spen and Spen apps?

Just confirmed that the pen works (I never use it). As for S Health, it's a CyanogenMod ROM, so it doesn't have the Samsung bloat pre-installed. I can confirm that I installed SHealth from the Google play store and it DID NOT read my steps properly. I think it goes to sleep and doesn't wake up properly.

If you figure out how to keep it awake (without killing battery), I'd be keen to know how. I'm considering buying a Fitbit once I get some money to spare since I'm on Discovery Vitality and have been going to gym+park run. Apparently you can get Discovery to pay for 25%?

For S-Pen get Note Buddy + CM-Spen + Skitch... I'll see if I can find the links somewhere.

I know Greenify would help with saving battery but if all cores are running at max it's still going to chow battery. The other way is to do the basics: lower brightness, gps+bluetooth+nfs off, lean droid.

Alternatively you can flash this through Odin:

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/64075/N900XXUEBOL2_N900OJVEBOL1_XFE/

It'll update the phone to 5.0

My stats for today. Haven't played much COC today so I guess that's the reason...

lean droid.

I used to have something called Wireless Minder that stopped working somewhere along the way. LD looks like it'll finally be a good replacement! However, it limits data to 60 seconds every 60 mins by default - that's far too long in my opinion. Check every 5 mins? That'll mean 1/5 of the radio time. It should be enough, right?

Yeah I set it to 15sec every 5min.

Just hit my upgrade to the G4... I feel so sad...

Does anyone ever had a problem where the Note 3's thermometer is not accurate at all?
Mine definitely shown the temperature about 5 degrees more than its supposed to be.
What can I use to test/troubleshoot it?

What is the best ROM for the Note 3 at the moment? I want to play around with my Note 3 a bit.
