Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Did anybody actually get a flip cover from Vodacom with their Note 3? I upgraded on Monday and never received any flip cover with it?
 
Surprise, surprise, my local Vodashop called me to inform me that they got stock of the Note 3.

I will be picking up my Note 3 from them during the day.

Now that's the kind of service I have come to appreciate from Vodacom. :)
 
Anyone have any luck with MTN yet? There were rumours that they would be offering the Note 3 from today (Friday) but can't find a contact number for the MTN store in Canal Walk and don't want to drive there just to be told "No".

I'm still trying to come to terms with the idea of my S2 not with me anymore. :cry:

Yeah I just checked mine and it also does that, not sure if it's by design though as I didn't switch WiFi off when I left my WiFi'd area so technically my WiFi was indeed on. Is yours explicitly turned off?

yip. it's been off all the time. yesterday was it's first day out into the big world and I switched it on at mcdonalds and at my wife's office, but I generally keep it off because I hardly ever get to open hotspots.
 
I wonder if Telkom Mobile will offer it with their additional on-net 5GB data promo.

I have the S4 as a business phone and (understandably) it is data intensive...but I really need this Note 3 as my private device, but am not willing to pay these exorbitant contract prices with such ridiculous on-contract data limits.

Cheapest contract prices:
Cell-C: R429pm with ONLY 100MB data! (3G) So ridiculous, it must be a misprint!
MTN: R469pm with 200MB+150MB promo data. (LTE) Cough, gag, heeeelp...(slumps to ground...)
Vodacom: R449pm with 75MB+125MB promo data. (LTE). Another joke! On LTE this will be used in a week!
FNB: R365pm unlocked DEVICE ONLY for qualifying clients.
Telkom Mobile: ????????????????????????? Why'm I not surprised they haven't released their contract details yet...this company is not in business to attract and keep customers.


I'm ready to port, so which one of you blood-suckers want my business???

I think Cape Town stores are receiving stock today. MTN Strand Street have confirmed that they are getting stock today. She could not confirm what time for security reasons. But definitely today. They have said they'll give me a call when they have it. I will update. I will also try call the V&A stores a bit later. Stoked.
