i have the N9005. Dont know which settings i changed but i popped an 8ta sim into it and the option is gone.

See post 895.

The LTE frequency band that the N9005 operates in is not compatible with the the Telkom Mobile LTE network, at least, at this point in time.
The Note 3 LTE version (N9005) operates in the 800MHZ, 850, 900, 1800, 2100 and 2600MHz bands only.
TM operates it's LTE network in the 2300MHz frequency band.

I would just like to add that I'm with MTN and I don't have LTE enabled by MTN, yet I still have the LTE option on my phone...

yes, but you most probably won't be able to use " lte services"
.,also when voda enabled LTE on my n9005, my other sim in my note 2( which does not have lte support at all )
was also enable for lte !
but 8ta ??

I can't use LTE even if I wanted to, we don't have LTE reception in my town.

I see someone already answered the question above, it totally slipped my mind that 8ta doesn't use the same frequency, hence LTE disappearing when the 8ta sim was inserted.

Try this page perhaps, seems fairly simple enough

You need a premium Evernote account but I think that comes free with the Note 3?

Thanks for this. I did see the article earlier but thought there should be another way but apparently not. This seems to be working (just taking really long) but I can see some of the notes in my Evernote account so thats cool. Was all have copied over, will see if there is a way to rename them (as they all start with "fwd" now) and add to folders maybe but thats just getting technical.

I am pretty convinced that the reason I can't copy over my notes using smartswitch is becuase on my iPhone, the default account for my notes was set to my GMail address instead of the phone sothe only way to get your notes over is to follow this guide: Copy Notes to New Device - which so far is working but the only real issue is the dates are all wrong so my newest notes are now the last notes on my Note 3 and the eldest ones shows up as the newest.

In my experience Google Maps use surprisingly little data. I also like the idea of not ever having to update maps.

+1

Maps uses very little data - especially for navigation. If you enable satellite imagery, then yes, data consumption will skyrocket.

And what happens when you don't get reception? google maps dies...whereas Nokia Maps only needs the gps and you sorted.

Imagine you take a trip to the Northern Cape and there is no coverage...what then?

Then I whip out my trusty old South African Atlas and get my directions from there....

I got a free S-View Cover for my Note 3 from Samsung Mobile SA today. Don't know what I did to get it, but they gave it to me. I must say, it really help extending your battery life.

8 hours use for the day and battery on 73%.

I really is awesome.

Lucky bastard. I cant even find a shop in my area that has them.

So after all that I have decided the best way to get your notes from your iPhone to your new Galaxy Note 3 is to manually copy them over - some have had succes using Samsung SmartSwitch but I suspect if your Notes are linked to your GMail account then it won't work.

What I am going to do is on my Mac have the Notes app and Evernote opened and then basically just "copy and paste" from Notes app to Evernote and have them synced to my Samsung Note 3. I had managed to copy all the notes using the GMail forward tool but all the headings where changed and the newest notes where now the oldest and oldest the newest so it was not going to work.

I know this way will take more time but at least they will be usable.

Before I start doing that tho, is Evernote the "Best" or the most highly recommended app to use for note taking? I tend to take alot of notes (nothing long) just if someone tells me about a show / movie, music, things I need to remember ect? I have had a look online and it seems to be the better option.

Lol...

Piesang, details please.

VC is not going to give my flip cover so...might as well try the Samsung store.

You go on as normal, since you are not a moron and have pre-loaded the map when you planned your trip.
