Anyone experienced this on their Note3?
I've encountered it on an S4 and am a bit concerned seeing that I have a similar card in my Note3:

Has anyone experienced micro SD card problems?
I have a Sandisk Ultra and seem to have lost all my files (photos, videos, music, documents, etc.).
Folders have been renamed to begin with the mu symbol, as shown in the pic.
Any suggestions on how to recover the files?

Trying to find some myself
added under household all risks for R6k at R80/pm
Wanted to insure for R9k but they wanted R120/pm
Got a quote from my broker. R107 a month and that's R10k cover

Not happening on my device (16GB SD card). Folders renamed with 'µ' or random symbols usually indicates SD card corruption and should be fixed by formatting to FAT32 if you're using 32GB and below(format to exFAT if 64GB and above), preferably format it first in a PC, then re-format it again on the device (note3).

Your strawmanning ability is impressive, are you a PD regular? No one ever said anything about knowing anything. I took the chance because it was quite cheap, because for some inexplicable reason the whole of SA seems to lack a Note 3 one and Amazon is pulling a "we can't ship to your address" again. Also since the Note 2 is bigger I figured it might be a little bit too big if anything. It will likely never stretch to fit the top of the phone, it's the wrong shape.

But like I have said, it's better than nothing. It's just not cool to tell a whole forum the thing fits "perfectly" when it clearly doesn't. It "sort of fits" is more accurate.

The only thing straw related here is you clutching at them dude, its a case, maybe you have a problem with small things but 2mm to anyone but you is negligible.

I stand by what I said, the case fits and I bet you still using it. Again if you didnt expect it to fit, why buy it in the first place unless its to use this forum as a platform for your lack of attention.

This sounds like a trojan, to me. If you've had your phone connected at a computer that has a trojan, I know some of them do this: they set your folders to hidden, system folders (the contents are still intact), then it creates .exe files with the names of the folders, and changes your explorer settings (if it was set to show file extensions) to hide file extensions. So when you want to access the folder, it obviously runs the .exe file and executes whatever it is the trojan was designed to do. It obviously doesn't do anything, or even work, on your phone through Android, as it's Linux-based and the trojan is Windows-based. But it can cause some problems in Windows.

What I do, is I change my settings to show system and hidden files & folders, then I copy my original folders to my hard drive (the ones that still contains all my data), then I format the flashdrive, or in this case, the micro SD card. Then I use command promt to force the system and hidden attribute on the folders and files back to normal (this setting can't be changed within the Windows or Explorer interface, it needs to be done via command promt), then I copy my stuff back to the respective external storage medium.

We need a tips and tricks thread, as mentioned before.

Btw, what's your favourite keyboard. I keep bouncing between touch pal x and stock Sam keyboard. Love the numbers on top of Sam keyboard but would love to make it smaller and have dedicated or quick keys for punctuation
And who uses the hand writing?

Sheesh, really hoping for some December specials to get my hands on a Note 3...

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like I need to push my s-pen down fairly hard for it to register. if I try write something, have the scribbles don't even happen. I did go ape with sketchbook mobile when I got my note3. :)

Oh piss off. Either go learn how to read some English, or if you know it already (as I suspect), go troll somewhere else.

Swiftkey FTW! I wouldn't mind the numbers on top as on the stock Samsung, but the prediction (Afrikaans and English) is sometimes downright amazing. Have never tried hand writing or swipe. From what I can gather Swiftkey will also start to offer better Emoji support in the near future.

A really nice touch (excuse the pun) about SwiftKey on the Note 3 is that if you take out the stylus, it will change into the handwriting keyboard automatically, you don't need to switch keyboards.

Does not do it on the Note 2, and I really hope Samsung will fix it in software release, cos I love SwiftKey.
