Moved over from iPhone to The galaxy Note 3 this weekend. Must admit as a die-hard apple fan that this phone has impressed me!

First thing that comes to mind when you switch from Apple to Android - FREEDOM!! :)

You would be so wrong.

You can simply disable any app/service you dont want & its gone.

Ive disabled Samsung push service, apps, account, the whole works.

But...Touchwiz is awesome and the widgets absolutely fantasic.

I don't want to just disable it. Done that already. I want it gone, deleted.

Even if it's disabled it still pushes updates. I don't want that.

So yes, root will be the best option.

I moved over to the Note 3 last month. I bought all the iPhone iterations that came out - original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4....at this stage I was ready to jump to the iPhone 5, but decided to move over to the Note 3.....and I am not sorry I did. I still use my iPhones for playing music on the iPod etc, but the Note 3 is firmly in my pocket as my go-to smart phone.

Apple became very staid with their new models - I wanted a bigger screen, and Apple wouldn't budge on it's screen. I also became fed up with iOS - some parts of iOS are good, the syncing of all devices iPhone, iMac, MacBook Pro all sync their music/videos/contacts/calendars etc etc so seamlessly. But for the rest of iOS, it became very limiting in what you could do with your device.

Apple really need to get adventurous with their next iPhone and next iteration of iOS, or many more will move over to Android.

The one thing i miss is the ringtones and also the backgrounds/wallpapers. There are a few things that apple do well and those two are one of them, all that i miss slightly is the ability to see when you have a whatsapp message on the homescreen and also a badge on the whatsapp icon

Official Android 4.4.2 distributing via kies in Poland.

KitKat goodness will be ours soon!!!

Yes and the good news is that it's the same version as the leaked version. I'm really eager to flash the leaked version now since the official release will probably only be out in a couple of months, no thanks to Vodacom.

Someone wanted to swap me their iPhone 5S for my S4.

After a lot of playing around and online research, I decided to keep my S4. Playing with the two side by side, the iPhone is just too small and doesn't do anything the S4 can't. Your Note 3 is even better :D

Are you implying you can't get all the wallpapers or ringtones on Android that you can on the iStuffs??

Until quite recently, you couldn't even change the lockscreens on iOS without jailrooting or whatever they call it. Not sure if that's still the case now, but Android has always been capable of using any background, any ring and notification tones and lockscreen background, even different lockscreen apps.

No not at all what I am saying is that the default wallpapers are awesome on iPhone I never needed to get any others but it's seriously minor I am loving my note too much for that to bother me

there is one thing I do want that is a note app (apart from Evernote) that can automatically sync with my mac's

Use Zedge to find and download ringtones and wallpapers, has all the iFail stuff too, and for free.

As for Note app, there are tons to choose from, but I havent found one I am happy with yet! I am currently working on something, will hopefully release in the next coming weeks. Will be cross platform and hopefully do what everyone needs. Will be posting details soon. But for now just search for note apps......millions out there

What's wrong with Evernote? Or Google Keep?
