I am getting really annoyed with my battery life, I have turned off auto-synch etc but still cannot get more than 12 hours battery life

This morning it was charged to 100% and dropped to 99% immediately when unplugged :-(

I have the GSAM battery monitor installed and ANDROID OS takes up way more battery than even the SCREEN

 Damn !!! I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM !
Its really annoying as everyone else Note 3 and S4 runs longer than mine !

What do I do ???

Do you have a Note 3?

I have the Note 2. But let me guess, you have one? ;)

And is it your first time using a phone with Samsung software?

*If I'm not mistaken, weren't you a big Nokia fanboy until you recently saw the light?

Most probably an app causing the poor battery life....or it could be that you run Exchange Server on your phone, or have a ton of apps and Play Store is set to automatically check for updates, etc.

1) Disable LTE. Settings > Connections > More networks > Mobile networks > Network mode. Make sure LTE is not connected. This is a biggie! You don't need it for 95% of the time when it's on, and you probably can live with surfing at 3G/HSDPA speeds. Turn it back on if you need to stream Yoot00bs.

2) Pull down the notifications centre and find "Power saving" in the icons at the top.

3) Disable "Mobile data" from the notification centre where possible. I have Wifi at home and at work. This saves A LOT of battery life too.

My battery life used to be really good, but the past month or so hasn't been great at all. Most likely an app.
When I check my partial wakelocks in better battery stats, the top two belong to Google services. NlpCollectorWakeLock and NlpWakeLock. Any ideas if this could be the cause.

I used to easily make it through 24 hours now I'm running low by 8pm the evening which would make it around 14 hours.
My usage patterns haven't changed much.
