SD card not working anymore? WTF???

I insert the card, it tells me "preparing SD card" and a second later "SD card can be removed."

O Ok I formatted it to Fat32 and it picks up now. I would really like the file system to be in NTFS.

Theoretically FAT32 supports nearly 8TB (reality 2TB) ... FAT32 can't have a file size greater than 4GB ...

So, assuming you have a 64GB SD card in your N9005, your real limitation is you can only store up to a 4GB file !! ... Is that an issue ??

See this site for some further info on NTFS vs FAT vs exFAT ... http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs_vs_fat.htm ... it may be useful ..

Another interesting site is http://www.howtogeek.com/177529/htg...ble-drives-still-using-fat32-instead-of-ntfs/

I fully understand. I have a 32gig SD card. It was in ntfs and I couldn't not open the card on the phone, up until I formatted it into fat32.

Nothing to do with the rest of your post.

Sorry if I was waffling ... I thought it might be useful to you to know why there are FAT32 and NTFS type formatting ...

Often devices will only be able to read/write FAT32 cards ....

Usually one does a 'quick' format - this takes a second or two to do - I think this was what happened in your case ..

Just got a notification that the official Kitkat has FINALLY arrived on Vodacom. Now for the extremely slow download...

Does this battery usage seem normal or poor?

I've only had the device for two days now, but I expected more....

So to further my question, do any of you guys have an SD card that you formatted into NTFS that is actually working in your Note3?

I don't see anything funny Fanie, also my list for Android System is shorter because I disabled some stuff.

So look here... what do you guys think might be wrong with this picture?

And if I touch the culprit

Can't say I know why the Android System is so high. Are you on a Polish KitKat? Mine used to be high as well. It dropped considerably when I flashed the UK firmware. My Android System sits nicely at 10%.

+1

Android system is way too high.

LOL no it doesn't... something not lekker here....

going to charge it full, do a battery pull, and see if its the same...

i must also add, i have not done a factory reset since i first flashed the first polish version... maybe its time.?

I don't know, I went from the stock Vodacom 4.3 to Polish 4.4 to UK 4.4 without a factory reset, but I think a battery pull might help as well as cleaning the cache.
