I'm finally back with the Note family after having moved to a few different phones since my Note 2 which I traded in February Really loving this phone and can't believe how much nicer the big screen is

Welcome. Very awesome and powerful phone. Even after a year it's still pretty much on top

Anyone using the 4.4.4 ROMs? I've tried cm, c-rom and now I'm on liquid smooth. I've got 2 main problems.
1. S pen function is basically useless. Can't press the s pen button for the menu and can't take notes with the s pen etc.
2. When I make calls the screen turns off. Push any button and nothing happens unless I lay the phone flat. The screen comes back on but I cant get back to the call screen to put the speaker On etc.
Any one else running 4.4.4 experiencing the same things?
I've done full wipes on all ROMs and tried to do some research on my own but no helpful.
Maybe once the proper 4.4.4 update from Samsung rolls out it will be fixed?

1 - This should be posted on th XDA thread. Most of them if not itsmikeramsay will be able to help you.

But I'll try.

2 - What version of the phone/nightly do you have? I'm on N9005 with no issues on 23/08 build. Try another build date.

3 - S-Pen with Note Buddy, CM S-Pen Helper, SketchBook, Skitch and Papyrus work very well as TW S-Pen replacements.

4 - When you are making calls make sure your hand is not covering the proximity sensor as this will turn the screen off.

5 - When you say full wipe do you just mean cache/dalvik/factory data?

6 - Did you restore apps with data from Titanium Backup?

7 - Some CM based kernels were/are expriencing memory leaks. Zion seems to be the kernel of choice...

Is there anyway to delete the MYMTN apn on my phone as I use Afrihost's APN and I dont want to reverting back to MYMTN,

Secondly, how do I prevent automatic updates and this damn weather thing, I hate it. It just never dies

You should be able to delete/change the apn.

What weather thing? Screenshots are helpful.

I own a lot of samsungs. Are you talking about the weather widget which on the homescreen by default?

2 reasons, firstly my companies byod policy is only blackberry or ios, so currently I carry 2 phones, my note and a blackberry. The cost of a personal contract is a waste. Second, my major gripe with the previous iPhones was always that I find them too small, so I'll take the 6 as it's more like what I expect.

Thought about the same thing and then I remembered the battery. It won't be able to compete with the battery of the note. So I will wait for the note 5. Note 4 has not really grabbed me.
