So cost saving, sure. Makes sense.
I agree if cost wasn't an issue then it's a no-brainer to make the shift I suppose. Or wait 12 months and get the Note 5 which will probably be a much bigger jump. But in the interim, people with only one contract and one upgrade every 22 months lose out on 12 months of a new phone...

Yeh, that's why I have 4 contracts. :D

Is the problem that you would rather save money on contract costs? Or are you considering something else?

I've got 5 contracts so I'm definately thinking of saving on costs. If this was one of my main contracts that was due for upgrade it would've been a different story.

But on the contract thats due it's a R350 per month jump to get a phone that's not that much of a improvement on the one I currently have. And then I get less airtime too.

Why? Family?

I made the mistake of going to cell shops today and handling the actual devices.

I must say the Note 4 is very nice. Lovely sharp screen. Very tempting...

ah i see.

what would make something for you "worthy" of an upgrade?
Good question.

The screen looked pretty amazing when I handled the Note 4 today. Though that was on 100% brightness. I've turned my Note 3 up to 100% and it seems to me the results are very similar.

So maybe I should just stick... Wait for the Note 5...

see, that's what you have to figure out. what do you want out of an upgrade? If the note 4 can't give you that, then rather stay with the note 3.

:wtf:

He is actually talking sense for a change, his one brain cell has been activated.

Epic.

Also played with the Note 4 today. I would say the screen alone is worth it. I thought my eyes were going to bleed. When the reviewers say does it really make a difference in everyday usage, with regards to pixels per inch... YES they do! The screen is absolutely stunning. Would have preferred brushed metal to the painted metal on the sides tho.

The screen is awesome. How do you like the screen by the edges compared to the 4? I love the feel and it finishes a stunning phone off beautifully.

Personally the only thing that would make me change is CUD :(

The differences really don't make for such an upgrade. The Note 3 isn't slow and the current UI is good enough not to have to warrant an upgrade just to get the new UI. Same with the camera... The only major difference is the build quality.

So if you've got an upgrade lying around, then maybe it's worth it
