Hi

Basically I have the iPhone 4. Love it. But want to try out android for abit and see what's it like. Switch device is in your opinion the best to experiment with. Either the S2 or the note. U can mention other devices. Also why did u choose that device.

I had my dad's iPhone 4 for about 6 months. I then swapped over to Android. I played with the S2 and the Note, and I ended up going with the Note. It just felt much bigger and smoother, but still fits in my pocket dispite what other people say. The note is much better for reading emails and documents. The big screen is also a serious plus to games. I try use other phones, and they just feel puny, what with their tiny screens and fiddly buttons.

If you have a choice, get a Note. It is simply better. You can also flash it to Android 4 when support for it lands, whereas the S2 most probably will be stuck on Android 3.2 .

The S2 does not have 3.2 that's for tablets only. Samsung has stated both phones will definitely get Android 4.0. Personally I love the Note, if the size isn't a problem for you (try a demo out in a store) then there is no other reason to choose a S2 over a Note.

@agent: Samsung have confirmed official ICS updates for both the Note and the GS2.

I agree with agent. The Note is the way to go. I had the GS2 then upgraded to the Note. The Note feels like a GS2 on steroids.
At first I did not like it. Took about a week to get used to the size. Now when I hold any of those 4.x sized phones they feel so tiny and I wonder how I managed so long with them.

Freaking awesome device the Note (so is the GS2).

Just a note (lol) but doesn't the s2 have better specs other than the screen?

Note also 0.2Ghz faster on the proc. Basically the same device except for screen and proc of which the Note is bigger on both.
And of course the S-Pen on the Note if you are into that (never used mine).

Edit: Note also has the bigger battery. But bigger screen chews it up faster so suppose that evens out.

Well it all comes down to personal preference which phone you will eventually choose. I got myself the white S2 at the end of December, the the phone looks awesome in white. The reason I went for the S2 is because I already own the original Samsung 7" tablet and the Note for me personally is just too big to be used as my main device and I would only get it as a second device.

All in all either device would be a good choice.

Why not just wait for the S3? Rumour has it that it should be dropping around April / May this year...

Either way you are getting a great device, its just down to whether you are fine with the Galaxy Note's size, if you are then go for it, if not then take GS2.

I personaly got the GS2, the Note was just too big for my liking and im very happy. These two are by far the best Androids you can get at the moment. :)

Cool. I didn't see any of the news that the S2 will get Ice Cream :)

You really can't go wrong with these two choices. They are both certainly the flagships of Android.

As you can see on this website www.sammobile.com/ there have already been a couple of Beta ICS leaks for the S2, it's only a matter of time before Samsung releases an official upgrade.

Neither: Get a real phone not a plastic toy, go for the MOTO RAZR MAXX, Way more battery life, Kevlar body and water resistant to boot.

Its a matter of Size and S-pen, if you have a hands on with the note and you like it, go for the note, if not go for the sgs2. . If you not too concerned with performance and you want a physically strong phone the RaZr is a great option but keep in mind in terms of camera, GPU, CPU, display, the razr can't match the quality of the SGs2 or Note... I have both the note and sgs2 so if you need any more info send me a message :)

Elimentals, you naughty boy!

Since you took the liberty to compare an almost 1 year old phone (Galaxy S2), with a phone that was only announced in January 2012, I felt a bit adventurous myself and picked the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD to compare your DROID with :

http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4414&idPhone2=4417#results

And I stopped at the screen resolution, without going any further. The Moto is outclassed already. No contest anymore. :p

Bye-bye Moto. ;)

The RAZR has the same camera 8 MP and CPU 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9, also the Super AMOLED screen of the RAZR is 540 x 960 pixels vs SG2's 480 x 800 Making the RAZR 256 pp vs Samsungs 217 ppi. add to that the RAZR uses the same GPU chipset as the iPhone, so basically I will say it more than match the SG2.

The Skyrocket has a dual-core 1.5Ghz CPU and graphics is Mali400X2.

It will slap the Moto senseless.

A kevlar body and water resistance is probably a good thing if you're going into a war zone or the rain forest. ;)
