Samsung Galaxy S21

Seriously impressed with this phone but my bank balance doesn't seem to like the phone as much as I do

Contracts for the normal S21 seem pretty reasonable, R650/m for 36 months, phone should last that long..

Previous S20 contracts were more than that if memory serves correctly

S20FE is R599 which one do you think is the better buy(excluding pre-order deals)

Flip man I just can't see myself committing to 36m contract for a phone.
S20 contracts were pricey as hell.
Remember S10 good old days when S10 was like R700 x 24.

In my honest opinion. It really is a small difference between the 2. It ultimately depends on what you care about most.
For instance losing SD card support on the S21, for me that is not a big deal because I hardly use that feature. The extra 2GB RAM could be worth it though.

Personally I would choose the S21 because the software support will last 1 year longer on it than the S20 FE.

At least the Exynos seems more decent this year. Beating the Snapdragon on the CPU side. It's GPU still is weak though. Haven't seen any battery tests.
