Samsung Galaxy S23

Having a issue with notifications at the moment. My phone will just stop notifying me of all messages. And then if a voice message comes through on WhatsApp I can't hear it. When I restart the phone it's fine again for awhile. Have done 2 factory resets and still happening. Anyone know of a possible fix or solution please
Have you tried running the diagnostics app ? Just do a search for it in the settings menu. That might hopefully help you figure out what's going on.

Hi everyone,

I saw a comment earlier in the thread but it was never confirmed or not. Can someone with the S23 Ultra 256gb confirm whether whether our version has 8gb or 12gb of RAM? I know the 512gb version comes with 12gb, but the 256gb could potentially come with either.

Thanks in advance.

I have the S23 Ultra 256gb and it has 12GB memory.

Is the trade in promo still running? Website still shows it but states that it ends 30 June.

36 months isn't optimal, but the battery can still make it through to the end (Both my folks have 4 year old P30 Pro's which are still going strong)..

But the deal is solid - feel free to prove me wrong.

Cheapest other 36 month S23 Ultra deal I could find was R1083pm = R280 more x36 = R10k more over the term
Cheapest 24 month S23 Ultra deal I could find was about R1400pm = R4800 more over the term, yes a year shorter.

Cannot factor in trade in's if you don't have a qualifying trade in device.

Happy to be proven wrong with my numbers.

1 more thing: After 24 of 36 months, you would still have R9600 in monthly payments ahead - you could sell the phone for not far off that and settle the balance of the contract term. (For the straight and narrows, you can settle first and then sell if you live your life by the "can't sell a contract phone" rules)

My point is that the phones are insanely overpriced.

Received my S23 Ultra yesterday. Moving up from a line of several Xiaomi's and lastly a Poco F3.

2 questions so far:

1: I read on GSMArena that the July update results in poor/reduced battery life, so I have not installed it yet. Any feedback in this regard?

2: I prefer to tap a lock icon/widget on the home screen to lock the phone instead of the power button. I can't seem to find this feature on the phone. Can it be done or do I need a 3rd party App and if so, which is recommended?

I will provide feedback on the phone after more use.

eagerly awaiting your feedback on this.

My s23 ultra had been draining a bit faster, but nothing seriously that I am worried about. I am extremely heavy user, s22 hardly did half a day lol

OK, so double tapping an empty spot on the home screen locks the phone. Perfect!
Battery life seems good - Lots of playing and business use and still on 83%.

I can finally use the wireless charging mat in my Next Gen Ranger - I tested it last night and a fan comes on under the mat and blows cool air under and around the phone while it charges - clever!

So after 2 weeks of use, I am very happy with the S23 Ultra.

Having run Xiaomi phones since my last Galaxy, the S5, I can appreciate the polished Samsung software. I like Miui, but it can be buggy and laggy for no reason.

I'm also enjoying the wireless charging life. Battery life on the S23U is great and I have now set the max charge to 85%, and keep it near there via my desk wireless charger, bedside wireless charger or in my Ranger for in-between topups. This usage should look after the battery and get me through the 36 month contract

I impressed the kids with the 100x zoom moon shot trick - they were stunned.

So Ja, beaut of a phone and very happy to have allocated my business cell allowance to the contract. Plus I full insured it so don't have to worry about breakages or theft.

Lastly, I still haven't installed the July update due to the initial complaints of battery life suffering. I'll wait it out until August is released and reviewed.
