This has become quite a common problem with the Samsung S3's. They work fine at first, then suddenly either they don't charge at all or they charge at an excruciatingly slow rate, for example it may take 1-2 hours to charge 1%. Don't fret, before you take your phone back and say it's broken, try this first.
Seems the S3 has quite a problem with the usb adapter charging cables, you know it's like a normal usb cable, but it plugs into the charging adapter. To solve the issue, simply go to your nearest cellphone shop and buy a generic brand charger with a normal wire. An assistant will help you find one that works with the S3. They cost on average about R90 and saves you a lot of trouble. And remember, avoid anything that charges through a usb connection. I've solved this problem with my S3 and it's charging perfectly and very fast at that.
