The feedback given to me by Samsung is that the bundles haven't been finalised. In all likelihood the additional chargers will need to be bought separately, but there is a chance that might change.

Thanks :-) Remember that it's an hour later in SA than it is in the UK, so the article was actually up an hour after the event started, just as the crowd dispersed to go play with the devices.

We're not Engadget who get enough hands-on access to record video previews beforehand, but we try :P

Have to agree with you, Jannie.

Of all the fancy schmancy features announced for the device, the eye-tracking impressed me the most. It's the only one I can see that'll make a difference in the way I use a smartphone on a daily basis.

To be fair to Sirisung, my first taste of it was in a very noisy environment, but I remain dubious of voice command systems in general.
 
So the front facing camera has to be on all the time. In order for the eye tracking to work I assume. Plus it has a huge screen with a huge resolution. Doesn't sound good for battery life :(

Agreed.Xperia camera and processor blows any phone away atm.
 
The pentile display and plastic body are quite disappointing. The HTC one x just seems like the better choice at this point. But of course we have to wait for reviews.

Wireless charging is very cool.

Can't say i like the looks, it just seem overly round.

To me this is much more of an issue on tablets and I would want this feature on my tablets but on a phone it's not much of a muchness. Hope this come to Android tablets.
 
To upgrade or not to upgrade...I have a galaxy 1 which will soon be due for an upgrade and a Blackberry 9900 from work (very boring phone)

The pentile display is a bit disappointing, but I am not really that sad. My original S looked and still looks fine, the higher ppi will also make up for that I think.

On the plastic body issue, I like it plastic. I don't think I will buy a glass or metal body. The number of times my phone fell, I think I will stick to plastic, although one of my friend's Sensation was driven over by a car and survived because of the metal which I don't think my galaxies would survive, I think dropping my phone is my biggest worry as I do it quite a lot - and they are all still fine.

Will people really use the wireless charging? Seems cool, but I don't know if it will get a huge uptake, I might use it though.

So it seems it is currently between the one X and the S3, from some of the reviews I have read (they are up already), the S3 benchmarks better, but that was a pre-production unit. Really excited.

Really like the instantiations photo shots.

Now THAT is pretty cool...this issue has been bugging me ever since auto rotation came out and initially on phones like my satio i just kept it turned off then on my Note/GS2/ANDROIDS I had it simpler by just dropping down the status bar and turning of the auto rotation....but this GS3 feature makes it pretty easy and user friendly,this feature alone may make me get one,its that important to me personally!

Also I hate it when you busy reading something and the screen turns off,but leaving the screen on to timeout longer always tends to waste battery life so this feature becomes even more useful!

Jannie you dont have a job for me there with you by any chance lol I also want new devices instantly! :p

You cant notice the pentile on a note with lower ppi so I don't see how its going to even remotely be an issue on the gs3 with a higher PPI.:confused:

As for the body well samsungs plastic doesn't feel as "plasticky" as the nokia or htc unibody polyprop.I actually find them to be pretty solid....the only phones that feel better in hand is the iphone 4/4s or aluminium phones like the older htc's.

I agree on the looks though need to get used to that round look.
 
True, but i'd still rather not have a pentile display. The issue with this phone is what killer feature does it really offer that would make me want to accept the clear negatives?

Odd looks
shiny plastic body
pentile display
crappy non standard ICS

etc...

For now i'm thinking the HTC just looks more desirable in this video. But i'll reserve final judgement until some reviews come out.

This phone is beautiful!

It reminds me a bit of the Sensation XL, if the iPhone was not stagnant and continued to evolve from it's earlier models, Maybe current or iPhone5 would like something like this as well>

Despite having said this, I'm not a fun of Samsung's Android overlay. Though the or share and and or the features highlighted by the team just as impressive as the specs.

This phone will sadly make me wish list which is currently topped by an 800 Series Samsung TV!
 
This is just not very appealing for me. Give me pure Android or give me an awesomely built phone. S3 is neither. Galaxy Nexus or One X are better. They really should have used proper SAMOLED+ and a non-plastic chassis.
 
Sad about the specs :(

HTC and Apple will milk Samsung this year, and build quality of all Apple and HTC devices are far superior to Samsung
