Samsung Galaxy S3

I must be doing something stupid. I rooted my S3 using clockworkmod 5.8.4.3 and then loading CM 10.1. I can get into the cwm recovery but I cant for some reason install siyah kernel :wtf:

I tried using cwm and odin. It shows the siyah logo when booting and also under the version info it shows it is using siyah but when I reboot into recovery it is still the same old cwm 5.8.4.3 with no siyah logo or anything related to siyah. On my s2 I remember the recovery looked a lot different and it had options relating to the siyah kernel like the kernel profile for eg.

Why does my s3 keep loading the old recovery?

Siyah kernel and CWM are two separate programmes and you wont see any Siyah options under recovery.

STweaks is the Siyah options program where all the tweaks take place. Either download it from the play store or it can be found under the /res directory.

So its not like the s2 where it had a custom siyah recovery?

edit: nvm it seems that there is no longer a recovery image released with the siyah kernel as with the s2

I convinced a colleague of mine to swap with me.
My: White S2 (mint condition - bought Feb 2012)
For a: Pebble blue S3 (mint - <1 month old)
..and R500 cash difference.

I know it's a steal deal. I love my S2 though, think I should do it?

I also had an s2 and now the s3. IMHO if you don't mind the slightly bigger size then absolutely, go for it!

The big question ,,,how much and from where and does it make the phone very heavy and big ??

You might get lucky!

Buy two if you find it, and get the battery charger jobbie, then you are pretty much sorted.

I would not want to make my S3 thicker with a bigger battery, I get 2-3days easy with moderate usage using the Omega V35 ROM. Quite satisfied with it though :)
